New My Porsche app version (14.0) now available. Adds pre-climate toggle to the iPhone control center

I just noticed there’s a new version of the My Porsche app available (at least on the Apple App Store). V 14.0 offers a few nice enhancements, my favorite of which is the ability to add a pre-climate toggle to the iPhone control center. Here are screenshots of it in action…

Does it show a numeric value for the temperature or do you just get a slider?

None of the above. You just get to turn it on/off. To set the temperature and other parameters (e.g., which seats to heat), you need to go into the app.

Coming from a Tesla I guess I should be impressed they have an app that can do some pretty decent things, including this new addition - but it’s just so far behind. I hope they continue to add some of these creature comforts.

Coming from a Tesla I guess I should be impressed they have an app that can do some pretty decent things, including this new addition - but it’s just so far behind. I hope they continue to add some of these creature comforts.

What does the Tesla app more … please be specific … I had a Tesla and the App while nice and easy to use it did not really brought additional features I can’t remember …
Now if you really want an app with lots of statistics on driving and charging, also compared to other drivers. Lots of features even battery pre condition with one press of a button, have access to remote cameras, elaborate programming of charging and pre heating the cabin etc … look at the BMW App, I really miss that, not the Tesla app … Same goes for VW, their app is just a pity function worthless app …

1. Reliable. In 10 years of owning the Tesla I was never logged out. Porsche app randomly logs me out
2. Apple Shortcuts support
3. Siri supoort
4. Car key support (no need to use a physical key)
5. Apple Watch

Thanks. Not knowing anything about Tesla or other EV's I think this is great. Is there a way to integrate Preclimate on/off with Siri?

Of course. My Porsche is fully compatible with Siri Shortcuts. Just make a shortcut and automate or ask Siri to preheat your Porsche

Also in 14.0 is a change to Direct Charging.

Previously with a Scheduled Departure set, raising the level of charge required above the current value, would trigger charging to start immediately e.g., when preconditioning, so that range could be preserved by input from the Wall Charger.

Now the Direct charging can be switched on to start charging immediately. This can also be switched ‘off’ and the time to complete charging reverts to the scheduled departure.

However (an issue) charging continues e.g., 7.1kW is still shown, car’s button continues to pulsate and Wall Charger state is still showing charging in progress.

Thanks! I'm not that tech savvy. Have the Preclimate on my control center to toggle on/off which is cool because you don't even have to click "send to vehicle".
But I haven't figured out how to teach Siri to do it

I have the same and more on the BMW app.
The one major Item I really mis on the Porsche is the Digital Key. The other items like in-depth reporting is also something I mis, but even the Tesla did not have it and if you wanted it, you needed to use third party apps …
So nothing on the Tesla app that really stands out in regards to the BMW and for the Porsche it’s the car key, frankly that is probably the most used feature and is not related to an App (Tesla’s implementation is through the App which is completely wrong in my opinion anyway …)
