why is it „disappointing“ that you get no updates that you have not paid for? why should this be the reason for bad sales? this is porsche policy for as far I can remember.

They advertise OTA updates for the newest Taycans:

They advertised OTA updates for the new Macan.

I think they know times when you had to buy map updates on expensive CD are in fact over but are clearly having a hard time delivering on that.

Updates for the infotainment system in the Taycan can now be downloaded entirely over the air (OTA)

This is very clear that this is simply updates to the PCM. I've received some of those for the Macan - yay, a YouTube update!

My recent full reset also caused a message to popup about navigation map updates being available.

Edit: I needed to update my Wifi settings, and then reinstall some apps. That's when I saw these 2 new OTA updates! The future is here!

Call me naive then. When I read the announcement that the Macan can get OTA Updates I thought that over time they will add stability improvement and minor convenience features. Like filtering charging stations on long trips.
Instead we are stuck on an old platform that deviates from the latest models and Porsche is not even able to fix the stability issues on some Macans (mine is stable though).
And for each update I have to bring it to the workshop. The OTA Feature in the myPorsche App is there since Day 1 but has never worked - their website still says Macan can do OTA including a Video which so far has never happened.

That is disappointing for me (some might call it false advertising) cause almost every other brand does it. And you don‘t even have to look at Tesla. Check Mercedes and BMW, they are improving their iX3 and GLC continuously and OTA.

I did not expect to get major new features like virtual shifting or new camera features even. But at least Porsche should make the car stable and commit to support it for many years. Instead we get a dead platform and are told to buy the new model.

And since you are right, this is Porsche policy, I most likely won‘t buy another daily Porsche.
Go to the Taycan forum. You will find dozens of people who wont be getting another Taycan due to the bad experiences with its Software and Hardware. And is the new Taycan selling well? Why do you think that is the case?
