It is new, and isn’t greyed out in the UK, so presumably it’s live? Strangely I was on to the local agent on Friday about an update to the sign recognition which has been promised for almost 6 months. They said they now have that update and want the car in - yet again - to install it. My question is WHY? If this is available, why do they need the car?
They also say that there are another two recall items, a seatbelt clip, and a replacement plastic cover in the boot.
They want the car for the full day as they say each job will take 2 hours??

The software update done by the dealer that updates a ton of different systems at the same time and takes multiple hours with the vehicle plugged in (and possibly 1-3 attempts) is not the same thing as the OTA available via the app that may install minor features (enable AI or beta features), update maps, etc, with small updates in the background.

Got chrono map and lift update yesterday. Don’t have chrono and not used lift so not sure what’s new.

How do you know? Did you get a notification with the details of the OTA update?

Update available in app centre. Haven't seen this before and thought it would enable some functionality. I didn't.

I have had mine 'activated' since July and have not seen any changes.

Porsche UK has just sent me the update letter for WSJ0. Needs a 3-hour shop visit but it is free.

Update: I waited until last week to try to book in for the update. Did it with the app and booked it in on 16 Dec (subject to confirmation, of course). The next day I received an email with:

"Sadly, the letter you received will state the work will be complete within three hours however, the more that has been carried out it taking a lot longer. We will require your Porsche at the centre overnight.
"

When I asked for a booking in March, I was then told:

"... We anticipate your Porsche will be with us for 2 days, however your service advisor will confirm the time of completion on the day of your booking.

As agreed, the following work will be carried out:

Campaign - Replace luggage compartment cover Campaign number : WSG4

Campaign - Update to software network VR28.13 Campaign number : WSJ0

Campaign - Replacing plastic slide on three-point belt at front Campaign number : WSN9"

I didn't agree as I was not aware of the two extra 'campaigns' and when I check the vehicle for recalls on the Porsche website none of this shows up.

It does sound like the software updates are not going well but at least they are fixing the noisy passenger belt rattle!

They had mine for three business days. I think my dealer can only update one EV at a time (maybe.) I was second in line at drop off. The update also takes “most of a day” I was told.

I was told my mine went very smoothly, and was completed in a couple of hours, though they had the car for a couple of days anyway as I was travelling.

I think you’ll find that campaigns are not for safety issues so they are not recalls nor urgent. My dealer made sure they would have the replacement rear cover, seat belt strap and for my 4S the rear motor strap in before having the car in.

Thanks. That makes sense.
