Great video. I watched it with no subtitles first to pay attention to what I was seeing. Clearly many details aren't production ready; those headlights aren't and they don't match many of the spy shots. The camo is sparse but effective in covering up many of the small details.

Now I'm watching subtitles in auto-translated English.

Yeah, that user name stems from my love of old westerns and Blazing Saddles.

I have now hit the mid-50's stage of life where the smallest of organs are refusing to cooperate. I am looking at you prostate!!!

The Great Waco Kid. AKA Gene Wilder.

That movie will stay - like you apparently - forever young.

My only question (as it relates to Taycan) is: With Porsche knowing what they now know in regards to battery buffer usage,
Will they open up a few extra kw to Taycan owners? That could equate to another 30-50 miles which is not insignificant.

94-96kW usable sounds lovely right about now. Assuming they can also improve overall efficiency on top of that, 300 miles seems like a bare minimum, maybe 350 on a good day? Not enough for me to sell the Taycan, but if I were buying again I'd probably go with the Macan to have that extra range.

As much as I love my CT4s, I would exchange it for a loaded electric Cayenne.
Could you expand a bit on why?

My one bit of trepidation about going from a Macan to a 4CT is ground clearance (in the wheel travel sense, not ease of entry or driving position). I'm kinda hoping that's not your reason for wanting to go in the opposite direction.

FWIW, I've been super pleased with the range of ground clearance with my CT. Superb. While I have never owned a Macan, I've owned a few Cayennes, and I'm not missing them at all.

Here’s an interesting excerpt from the insideevs article:

Both the 79.2 kWh Performance battery and 93.4 kWh Performance Plus battery packs used in the Taycan have slightly more than a 10% buffer. Macan EV's battery buffer will be about 3% and I asked Porsche why they are using such a high percentage of the battery as compared to the Taycan…
As for the usable capacity, Porsche said they wanted to be conservative with Taycan, since it was the first BEV from the brand, and was capable of accepting high power (up to 270 kW) when DC fast charging. However, now that they have the data from the Taycan fleet, Porsche feels comfortable opening up more capacity in the Macan.
Knowing the Taycan is quite conservative with available battery usage might put some at ease when it comes to considering charging habits and battery life.

a little irksome that they know they were overly conservative with Taycan but have yet to calibrate Taycans with updates based on current knowledge.

IMO, Taycan and Macan are in completelly different league… sports car vs SUV….
taycan is (and will be) head turner, while Macan is (will be) just another SUV.
As long as i’ll be able to ingress/exgress low, i’ll keep it…just give me a real range up to 500km.
