I talked with my SA and he said that Porsche made a mod to his main authorization system and now this is the correct way to activate a "sleeping" P&C 🤔🤔🤔.... Believe it or not now it works.... 🥳

@Awaz not yet (i use fast charge services only for long trip - otherwise I use hotel charging point).
On Wednesday I will be back home (750 km) and I have to charge on the highway for sure ( 😅 ) so I will check it (I still have my keyfob chain with RFID and Porsche Card in case.....)

Hi Folks, add another working Plug and Charge to the list because of the Privacy settings toggle! I am based in Montreal, Canada so it works for us Canadians too. Here's my exact scenario:

-Plug and Charge icon is greyed out in Charging menu
-Tapping the greyed out menu item gives an error that Porsche Connect services needs to be enabled (which it always was)
-I went to the settings menu, then Privacy settings, and toggled Connect Services off then on
-Plug and Charge was STILL greyed out, but tapping on it gave an error that P&C cannot be used when Compatibility Mode was on. It was already off course.
-Tapped on Compatibility Mode to ensure it was actually off
-Plug and Charged immediately became available!

SWEEET!

Now I finally got the option to install the certificate on my phone app in the Charging menu but the certificate download kept failing. I got in the car, powered it up then the certificate downloaded and installed correctly.

Thanks for this! I owe Canadian beers to y'all! Porsche's software though...

C

And that is the correct way to do it, in the car when it's on.
Good that it works for you.

After the visit to the Porsche Dealer I got my internet connectivity fixed and everything was working again except for the plug & charge that had disappeared.
Since I was pretty happy with everything in the car and in the app working again I was not going to mess around with resets or touch the privacy settings. Also since using the rfid key chain was actually faster than waiting on the plug & charge communications to finish I did not think much of it anymore.
But last week all of a sudden the certificate appeared in the app and I was able to turn plug & charge on in the car.
I guess either the car healed itself or someone at the Porsche Data Center fixed this issue from a distance.

I don’t have a Level 2 (or even Level 1) charger at home since I live in a condominium building and our underground garage isn’t wired with electrical outlets. Quotes from several licensed electricians for the required electrical panel upgrades and wiring came to $14,000 plus the cost of the Level 2 charger to be supplied by me. So for the first year I’m going to use the free Electrify America charging.

I did not have my SA install or activate anything when I picked up my car a week ago and did all that myself since I’m a geek by trade.

I knew from reading this forum that activating the data services in the app before completing the sale would cause problems, so I did that once the car was home. I then installed the certificate for Plug & Charge, and it showed as active moments later.

Four days later with a little bit of extra time on my hands and near an EA charging station I decided to try it out. There were only four chargers at this station but a BMW iX pulled out just as I got there, so I didn’t have to wait. Plugged in and maybe ten seconds later the light on the charging port turned green.

The car charged at a maximum of 169 kWh, and EA limits charging at this particular station to 85% SoC, so the session ended before it reached my 90% target SoC. But it was free, so I’m not complaining.

One negative about the experience was getting lectured by a guy in a VW ID.4 on the other side of the chargers for pulling in on the wrong side so the LCD of the SE was facing away from the car. He must have assumed that because I had a brand-new car with paper plates that I didn’t know charging etiquette. I explained to him that I had no choice in the matter because that was the only spot that was open when I got there.

Has anyone run into "Certificate Installing" issues?

Everything with P&C had been working though I needed to run a factory reset for other issues. When I try to install the certificate, it just hangs/timesout.
