Hi,

I’ve got plug & charge set up, enabled, credit card loaded etc.

Whilst a great idea - seems the UK infrastructure is not yet widely available for that feature!

Did a filter search on the myporsche app and was disappointed with the lack ofavailability.

Am I missing something?

by the way, at Porsche Reading earlier today the 3 electric points are not working …

The plug & charge is the only thing in my car not working yet. It's greyed out on the PCM, All else seems to be okay, so far.
Before, Xmas holidays, the technician at Porsche Mayfair did factory reset, still no joy. He said he is on it and will come back to me with a solution.
Plug & charge only works at Ionity or Porsche centres where they have the chargers.

thank you!

it wasn’t working on mine either… I reset it, changed my credit card to another one on my Porsche app, waited a couple of hours and it worked….

I’ve not bothered setting it up as I don’t publicly charge that often, and when I do it’s rarely at IONITY just due to their locations and how busy they usually are (Beaconsfield is my most frequented as it’s on the way to Heathrow, but you can rarely get on without a long wait) and don’t envisage ever using a Porsche charger. When I got the car though I received a complimentary RFID key fob, which I had been looking at anyway ahead of getting the car as I love a gadget. That’s now set up so that a swipe of the key fob will replace having to get my credit card out, although again it will be a rare occurrence as that too is limited to IONITY and Porsche. But being as I needed a key ring one way or another it was a nice freebie.

i think the Plug n charge issues are more so related to the phone app and getting the certificate than the cars...

all the options were greyed out for me, and i just happened to find the right button in the app to get the cert...and I didn't even have to toggle it on the car...it got it automatically from the app

I have the RFID key fob too, and it's probably the best way of starting a charge.

If you start the charge with your credit card then you get pay PAYG rates as opposed to the much cheaper Porsche Charging Service rates, so not only more convenient with the key fob, but much cheaper too (at IONITY at least).

I got the Porsche charge card, not the RFID key fob. I thought everyone is meant to get a Porsche charge card anyway, and an RFID key fob is an optional extra. The Porsche charge card came in the post. By using that card, you also get cheaper Porsche Charging Service rates at Ionity.

Ionity (apart from Porsche Centres) are your only choice that I'm aware of.

RFID card / fob works best in my experience with more Operators supporting the Porsche Csrd and initialises charging quicker.

Discovered the other day that MFG locations accept the card (My Porsche app says QR code only but the one I tried it didn't work (incorrect / missing QR code)).

I had a Porsche card with my Taycan (I sold the Taycan yesterday), but a few months ago I bought a RFID key fob anyway because it's a cool gadget and it fits in my trouser pocket better than the card. It took all of five seconds to add to my PCS account.

I spoke to my dealer yesterday and he said I would be given an RFID key fob with my new Macan when I collect it instead of a Porsche card, which is no problem as effectively they're doing the same job, but the key fob is more practical. So I will have two key fobs connected to my PCS account. This is useful because I also have a BMW i5, so I can attached one RFID key fob to my BMW key and use that to charge, as the rates are better with PCS than with BMW Charging.

Today I received an email from Porsche that my Porsche Charging card is on its way to my address, so it looks like I'm getting a card anyway. 😄

Good that they are giving you RFID key fob as well as the card. I don't know why I didn't get both.
I will have to ask for an RFID key fob then.
Anyone one else experienced that?

I assume it's a gift from the dealer rather than Porsche policy. I am in the Netherlands, also, so I wouldn't expect things to necessarily be the same in the UK.

My (amazing) dealer also promised the RFID key ring… I got the card via the post. Not very useful in the UK I guess. What I really want is the all weather mats - which is not yet available to purchase - although I ordered one.

I used the Porsche charging card a couple of days ago at Ionity Coventry. It works fine. I keep it in the wallet.
You just touch it on the Ionity charger, just like an RFID key ring you would. Apparently, instead of using your credit card, Porsche charging card you can also use on other chargers too where credit cards are accepted. It's just that the discount is only at Ionity or Porsche's own chargers.
But I think RFID key ring is a better idea.

The card is very useful in UK - remember it potentially can be used for any operator signed up to the Porsche Charging Service. Use the app to locate any EVSE and then check the payment options for a given EVSE - QR code scanning, PAYG or Porsche RFID will be listed.

That's not quite how it works.

The Porsche Card or Fob can be used at many other locations depending if the operator is part of the Porsche Charging Service which will also include reduced charging rates. Ioinity is the cheapest as there is no per minute Charging time added.

Use the My Porsche app to locate EVSEs and then check the payment options.
