I am still waiting for the delivery of my Turbo, should be at home soon.
while I can't wait to get it and enjoy the ride, I am also wondering if I did not make a big mistake by buying a Porsche ELECTRIC!
I don't really care about the depreciation, I am in a position where it will not affect my finances but I do care about the car quality/maturity, especially all these software bugs/glitches that nearly everyone on this forum has already experienced.
so when I read everywhere Porsche is reconsidering its EV strategy, I am worried they will not put the same effort to fix things now that they will have to spend time/money on new ICE car platforms...
it's going to be a year the Macan EV is on sale and 8 months it hit the road - no software update has been performed - OTA capability is still not available, there is absolutely no communication from Porsche HQ regarding when those software issues will be investigated and fixed.
Am I worrying for nothing ?

PS: Should we try to find the way a Porsche representative (not a local dealer) joins this forum ?

The cars have been in the hands of buyers for less than 6 months - not 8, to be clear.

Yes you are worrying for nothing.

As for forcing a Porsche rep to join the forum, you could browse LinkedIn to find employees, then stalk them on social media to find their address, and maybe go to their homes to force them to create an account here? 🙃

Brands choose how they communicate with their customers/the public, there is nothing we can do to make anyone join this board. But I can guarantee you Porsche is aware of this forum, I've shown it myself to their corporate team.

Press cars were available 9 months ago where reviewers had to reset PCM yet, sounds familiar ?
Obviously we can't force anyone to join this forum, I was simply making a suggestion this place could become a direct communication channel to provide updates on specific issues as unfortunately dealers have no clues about EV software.
I am glad you managed to reach their corporate team, let see if it makes any difference.

"Press cars" doesn't mean "final/production cars". ;)

that's absolutely correct but my point was that 9 months later bugs are still there. We could have expected issues seen 9 months ago would have been fixed when first buyers got their Macan EV. Nowadays, software products are put on the market unfinished and first customers are the beta testers, in some instance we can accept that as long as the bugs are fixed in an "on going process". I am just concerned that, since September and the long list of issues raised by this forum members, Porsche still did not performed any software update.

I love my Macan Turbo Electric. I had issues at first and some resolved on their own but none of it will make me trade it in for another ICE or Hybrid. Once you get your Macan Turbo, you'll understand. My next move will be the Cayenne Electric.

MacanEV Turbo on order

I’ve had thoughts of canceling my Turbo (arrives next week) but I’ve seen more people who have a Turbo with no issues than those with.

While I don’t think the car will be perfect… I’ve had 5 Tesla’s (most recent is a M3P highland) and they all have issues.

I have owned the Macan since early January. So only a short time but so far no software problems or notifications. Fingers crossed ;)

the production date for my 4s ordered in november was april. i changed the order to a turbo 4 weeks ago. delivery date september. i live in austria, less than 1000 km away from porsche. as an entrepreneur, it is clear to me that demand is significantly greater than production capacity.

As one of the first Turbo EV owners, I can confidently say that I’m thrilled with it and absolutely love it. Sure, there were a few minor hiccups that come with owning a first-generation model, but they’ve all been sorted out. Just remember to approach it with an open mind, because there might be a few surprises along the way, but the overall experience is totally worth it.

Your concerns are valid as far as Porsche support. I've had my Macan 4EV for two months and there are many quirks and bugs. The car is at a Porsche dealer's shop now because I had no cool A/C (I live in the NM desert. There is only one EV mechanic at the dealer, so there were 8 EVs in front of mine, three weeks wait for a loaner. (Glad I kept my hybrid Prius.) Curious about how long for parts. There should be conversations about what happens to the charging infrastructure. BTW, one year of free charging but only a handful of available EA chargers in my state has no value. This is the best-performing car I've ever driven and the frozen blue is beautiful as I configured. I am committed to EV and doing my small part to prevent climate change. But under the current administration, I probably wouldn't pick up the car if I had it to do over. Thank you for expressing your hesitation.
