Did you mean to call Stellantis, Stallantis? Because that is brilliant! They surely operate like Stalin. What happened to Fiat? They were crappy but cheap and fun to drive. X1/9 was one such example. Fun fact: out of 100,000 sold in US only about 1,000 remain registered.
Banking more on a typo, otherwise Stallintis would have made more sense. šŸ™ƒ

The only way forward for Porsche is to become more exclusive. Less output and bigger margins.
Agreed. The new Taycan feels like part of the 911-ification of their lineup: itā€™s more expensive, and everythingā€™s still an option (compared to the Macan Electric). The 911 will do fine, but the Taycan puzzles me. The Venn diagram of people who can afford it, want a sedan, and also want an EV feels pretty small šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø So, it seems to play mostly a flagship role? I.e. showcasing Porscheā€™s EV performance to set up future Macan (or Boxster) buyers with the idea that the best EV performance still comes from Porsche.

Thatā€™s why Porsche still needs broader-market models like the Macan and Cayenneā€”it saved them last time. In the words of then-CEO W. Wiedeking:
We donā€™t want to be Germanyā€™s Ferrari. We donā€™t want to be a big fish in a pond thatā€™s shrinking, but rather a growing fish with more room to move in a larger lake.
While the high-end luxury pond may not be shrinking anymore, the market for high-end gas-powered cars probably is. So itā€™s no surprise (totally objectively šŸ˜„) that the Macan Electric is the more compelling package value-wise: premium enough to make people want more Porsches but ā€œaffordableā€ enough to pick over other mid-size electric SUVs.

The Electric Viking is as reliable in his predictions on the car industry as my 13 year old daughter is. I watched one of his videos from 2 years ago where he predicted VAG would be one of the Top 3 brands in the car world in 2030 (and he was also predicting 95% of the cars would be electrical by then). He just has no clue...

What is a fact though, is that the traditional car makers are on the backfoot and the Chinese manufacturers are coming in big time currently with cheaper cars with more functionality. Big question at the moment is how reliable are they and how is their longevity (especially their batteries). The jury is out, and for sure the car market is up for a big shakeup.

Personally, I think Porsche will be fine. VAG on the other hand may not. Maybe another round of Porsche trying to take over VW instead of vice versa. I'll get the popcorn out already...
Yes...I was going to say before I saw you beat me to it. The Viking King is usually way off on everything. Not sure if that is his bad luck or inept research skills or maybe he is a click bait fisherman. Probably some combination of all. I think a more mainstream financial source would be better to source to rely on. I agree with your view on the rest.

Iā€™m sure it will inspire the Electric Viking.
