Does anyone have experience with any supercharger to CCS adaptors for the Macan 4 EV? I purchased one on Amazon but am reluctant to use it until I gather some first hand knowledge. Our dealer service and parts had no knowledge of any aftermarket adaptors and Porsche has not released one. Thanks.

it doesn't matter - VW/Audi/Porsche vehicles are not yet authorized to use Tesla Superchargers - so even if you have an adapter you will be blocked from activating a charging session until VW/Audi/Porsche complete their agreement w/Tesla…stay tuned…

these threads have references to NACS/CCS1 adapters that may or may not work once service/authorization is completed - current estimates/announcements indicate that June may be the time frame, but that is subject to change - YMMV…

the threads below are pretty complete treatments of options and state of the world…

OMG, every time I read or think this, I get a stabbing pain behind my eyes. I think we need a little shorthand for this thought.

Here are some possibilities:

I bought the one by Lectron over the more expensive from Tesla and is working just fine.

Thank you. Lectron is on my shopping list because they make the Rivian adapter.

Also, during our drive from Atlanta (PEC ATL) to Portland, Oregon, the 2024 Macan Electric Turbo directed us to a Tesla Super Charger in Indiana. The Tesla Super Charger did have a Magic-Dock and we had no trouble charging after creating a Tesla account on my iPhone and selecting a 2024 Taycan as my car (even though the VIN is a 2024 Macan Electric).

I think in Europe we have the advantage of Tesla Super Chargers having the CCS2 connectors and most of them are now open to other brands. I took my Macan 4 to Barcelona last year and used several Tesla Superchargers in France without issues.

But what car did you use that on? Not a Macan surely.

I used it to charge the Macan at home with a Tesla level 2 charger. I also got the adapter for a Tesla supercharger but need to wait until Porsche is allowed to use it.

Could you please post the link to the Lectron model you got (and like).
So many choices. The Mini - Tesla to J-1772 Adapter - 60 AMP also looks interesting - very small but $$$
You charge L2 from either side, right?
Is there any down side doing AC from the left AC/DC capable side?

no down side - cheaper adapters use cheaper parts - maybe get the good one for your 100k per fancy SUV?

there are links to many choices in this thread

https://www.macanevowners.com/forum...rt-transition…because-it-doesnt-matter.16867/

a J-1772/CCS1 vehicle can benefit from two adapters:
  1. one for AC charging at Tesla Destination/Residential chargers
  2. one for NACS fast chargers like Tesla Superchargers - and eventually other FastChargers when they add NACS based charging cords…

It makes no difference which side you use. This is the one I bought based on one of the many recommendations by @daveo4EV:
https://ev-lectron.com/products/lec...tination-chargers-and-mobile-connectors-black
It’s a 48 Amp only which is enough to meet the current maximum allowed charging capacity for the Macan in the US, 9.6 KWh.
For the time being I’m sticking to this adapter which appears well built, of decent quality, and is doing the job. We also have a Tesla model X at home. Therefore, when I get around to it, I may upgrade the current Tesla charger to a Tesla UWC.

there is vehicle if info passed to charger as part of either CCS or mods required as part of network access agreement - in any case it’s a fact that tesla can filter cars by at least manufacturer…VW/AUDI/PORSCHE are not the only vendors that have been blocked until the agreement is formal and finalized

i got a nasty gram from EA once for using my Porsche free charging with my son’s Tesla - so EA “knew” it was not a Porsche Taycan charging
