I think it is safe to say that, whatever our other disagreements on finer points, pretty much universally Macan EV owners agree that the driver's and passenger's tiny, non-extending sun visors are among this car's most glaring/absurd/almost-comical design flaws. (I say this as someone who otherwise absolutely loves his 4S, so don't peg me for a troll!)

So . . . what solutions have folks found? I was telling my kid the other day that a baseball cap is practically required to drive this car when the sun is low (morning/evening) because the visors are so ridiculously tiny.

Is there a way to goad Porsche into a recall/fix? I mean, at least let me extend the dang thing!

Thanks - I had not seen the more recent posts to that thread. My 3D printing skills are n/a, so I had abandoned reading that one a while back. The Alibaba linked solution at the end is certainly an option, but . . . not necessarily what I want to install on my new Porsche if it can be helped.

Don’t sweat it. There are a few on this forum that take particular joy in playing gotcha with the condescending “search is your friend” response within 30 minutes of a new thread being created. If that’s the game we were all going to play then AI could just take care of every macan ev question on the internet without the need for an online forum.

I’m right there with you with the sun visor. It’s totally unacceptable (along with the absurdly terrible camera system/resolution). I’m contemplating trying a couple from Amazon that attach with Velcro straps. The added bonus will be to cover up the obnoxious warning label we get in the USA. My criteria is that it still allows the visor to look reasonably good when folded close (there is a sunken area in the roof for the existing visor to “nest” so don’t want it to noticeably protrude.)

This other thread also covers alternatives - which a quick search also returns.

It seems it pains @DTaxman to hear it but yes, a lot has already been covered on the forum. It’s common sense to leverage existing feedback vs ask for the same information again.

This is my effective, but sad, solution for a $100,000 car.

Tuckvisor Blackout Sun Visor... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z9F1MN3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I also had the front windows tinted to match the rear, which is surprisingly effective at dealing with the sun.

It must be *really* cloudy in Germany.

So . . . tuckvisor is the best solution we've come up with. Got it/thanks Argelius! FWIW, I have reached out to my SA about this, and he's promised to pass this on to Porsche through his "portal" (whatever that means).

And, setting aside the DIY solution angle, I guess I'm interested in marshaling our collective resources to get a fix for a very glaring (pun intended) design defect. Any ideas there? (FWIW, over the past few months, I have reviewed many (most?) of the posts on here, but if I've missed some re: how we can work together to address problems w/ Porsche, my apologies!)

I poured my heart and soul into that post… and you didn’t read it?? Haha jk

In case you missed it, you can always do the tried and true Aston Martin method. I saw this on the first day I was testing out my visor extension prototype haha 🤣

It seems like Porsche could product a sunvisor of the same size that incorporates the extension feature found in most proper sunvisors. They wouldn't have to modify anything else in the car to accommodate it.

I think it's clear the sun visors are non-Porsche visors from the parts bin. They're thin, hard plastic, poorly sized and feel incredibly cheap because they are. My previous car, a Genesis GV60, had much larger visors that were fabric-covered and felt like proper luxury car visors.

Hi, I thought I was the only one bugged by the visors. It's the same for the Macan 4 EV. I'd love to know a work around

It’s super easy for you to just ignore this thread if it pains you
