My Turbo came with Continentals!
I already had a puncture (less than 200 miles), and discovered it’s not a run flat tyre :) it went flat in about 2 minutes from me hitting the pothole. Yay. 🤯😳😱🤬 thankfully no damage to the wheel, by a miracle.

Plus, if you’re in and around London, driving in parts of the M25 is feels that you are living f near a subwoofer …. Bleeding awful cabin noise in parts of that motorway. It’s the same in my 911.

Porsche, why not run flat tyres??
Run flats aren’t very efficient, counterproductive on a EV.

There are apparently several different Pirelli Scorpion all season tires. My Macan 4 came with "Scorpion MS" tires which are not the same tire as the one you are picturing (apparently a lot of Model Y's come with these tires, so I presume they are an EV tire, or come in an EV flavor). I have not challenged these tires much, but I can say they have an unpleasant, loud, singing resonance on asphalt at almost precisely 55 mph indicated.
Just took delivery of my 4S yesterday and can confirm that I have the 20” Pirelli Scorpion MS electric all-season tires. Only drove on them home from the dealership but they seemed fairly quiet on city streets and the highway. I’ll provide a ride update once I get more miles on them.

I should be picking up my Turbo with 21 inch wheels next week. Hoping to see some decent tires on it and considering a swap if they are sub par. What brand of tires re you guys ending up with? Are you happy with them or not? Are you considering switching?
Thanks for your help!

Mine - Turbo 22 with Goodyear. Very happy.
Are yours Summer? or all season?

I specified Summer tires on my 22" wheels and I am hoping for the Goodyears, significant consensus seems to indicate that among the Summer options, they are the best? It seems for Summers, Pirelli, Bridgestone and Goodyears were the ones being fitted from what I have seen from reading different threads.

If I had opted for all seasons, I believe the Michelins are the optimal luck of the draw. Again not sure which other ones are being fitted.

Geographics could dictate which tire options are being fitted as well possibly, not sure.

Here is another thread where this is discussed/

Hi Folks,

I just got my Macan 4 almost 2 weeks ago. I am based in Quebec/Canada where winter tires are mandatory during the winter months. The car came with Michelin Pilot Sport all-seasons, and the only winter tires available immediately for the 21" wheels were Pirelli Scorpion Winter 2. I really wanted Michelin X-Ice Snow as I have been a Michelin X-Ice fan since they first came out a long time ago. The Michelin's are incredibly quiet and smooth, quieter than some summer tires. But they were a special order that would take 2 weeks so I got the Pirellis instead, which were also much more expensive  . I find the Pirellis are noisy and rough but traction has been good in the little bit of snow that we have. On "Normal' mode, I did get the rear of the Macan 4 to step out a little so the power is definitely rear-biased (fun!).

The main thing to keep in mind is the massive weight of this EVs. Over 2300kg (5100 lbs) is an incredible amount of weight to move and to stop. The EV motors move the large weight with ease, but physics is physics when it comes to stopping heavy vehicles!

I've read here in a couple of the review threads that recent 4S with 20 inch wheels are coming with Pirelli Scorpion MS ELEC all-season tires — very smooth and quiet drive with nominal road noise. Highly rated but expensive (to my POV), like $450 a tire if you can find them in North America. There seems to be a couple different models of Pirelli (Pirelli P Zero ELECT summers a good to great tire) and Michelin being installed, so you may have to dive deeper than just brand.

My 20" OEM summer tires are the Pirello P Zero ELECT.

These are good to great tires. I slightly prefer Pilot Sport 4 but the P Zero are nice and I can't complain.

Are all Macans delivered with all season tires or with summer tires or does that vary per country?

All season is default, summer tires are a no cost option to specify on the build, performance summer tires optional for a fee only in conjunction with the 22" RS Spyder wheels.

Likely dealer specced cars will come with All Season.

I live in the Florida, so I specced Summer tires on my incoming Macan.

That’s true for the US, not the case worldwide.

You are correct, it is country/market specific.
  • In Europe, many (all?) countries offer Summer by default and All Season tires are extra.
  • In the US, All Season are offered by default with Summer replacement at no additional cost.

Because nothing says performance EV quite like all-season tires straight from the factory! Seriously though, I get it, swapping tires/wheels is annoying 😀
