Price wise pretty similar (fully spec'ed out). Feature-wise also as far as I can tell. I know the range of AMG is smaller. AMG Sales guy was pretty dismissive of the Macan, saying its not a "true porsche", more like an overpriced Audi since they share the platform. Any thoughts appreciated (reliability/depreciation/comfort, etc etc).
Thanks in advance
Mercedes salesmen have always been obnoxious, elitist and dismissive of other brands sadly. One could argue the EQE is also not a real Mercedes? 🤣🤣

I think that from an image point of view Audi and Mercedes are on the same level while Porsche is on a higher level.

I'd put Mercedes marginally ahead of Audi but behind Porsche.

Again used to be a hard core Tesla enthusiast/fan till suddenly out of nowhere I decided I deserve better and started looking and the amg eqe was the first luxury
Non Tesla ev that came to my mind that has acceleration close to the model s Tesla. However after reading so many reviews something of how the steering felt or how the car handled made me disregard completely. Tycan always has been on top of the list however to get close to the model s acceleration it will cost at least 150k+. Next came the bmw. Ix has a beaver Like front grill which I didn’t like. Then i5 m 60 little less acceleration costs $100k however the rear end look and numb steering were the cons. When I first read about the Macan especially the turbo I was that’s it. That was back in April. Allocation reserved June. Took delivery exactly four weeks ago from tomorrow and have been living the Porsche experience since then.
so don’t even think twice go with the Macan!!!!!!

Great, another happy Macan customer.
By the way, when mentioning those cars costing $150k or so, did you not consider used ones like a Taycan?
Good deals on the used ones out there, apparently 🤔

They are the older platform. Not best range or performance or recharging infrastructure

Nowadays, it’s hard to sell EVs…
it's even harder with you're mostly clueless about EV's and most salepeople are routinely clueless about the gas cars they are selling…

the level of "bad" I've witness from sales people with EV's is beyond stunning, depressing and down right counter productive…

the legacy dealer/service/sales model is broken for EV's - and that is just one more part of the legacy automotive industry that will need to be overhauled (mostly by going away)…onling ordering with configuration menus…

take the porsche configurator and add a "buy now" button - but then dealer's sales people would disappear and they don't like that.

100%… I would not mourn this “loss”.

I have been trying to get an intro with the finance people for 3 (THREE!) months - emailed, texted, called. Once actually got through to them, they said they’d call me back right away. Crickets.

Always an excuse, and 2 weeks-ish to delivery, still no word. They said tomorrow (about the 12th time I’ve been told that). We shall see.

I ordered an EQE SUV AMG 53.... the car came damaged, and I declined to take delivery. They offered like 30k off. I test drove it and the brakes really sucked. The car just felt heavy. I really did like the interior, but the overall build quality just sucked. If you look at any black EQE SUV, the rear bumper paint is a different color than the body. At least on the 2024 models.

Notice the different wheel. these are two different EQE AMG SUV’s. Both bumpers have a horrible color match from the factory!

The EQE SUV is made in Alabama... while the Macan Electric is still made in Germany.

I believe the EQE Sedan is from Germany though..

This make me laugh for a while. I wouldn’t rely on his judgment since MB shared (and maybe still does) Renault motors for the A and B series: so these won’t be “real” MB? I know that AMG is a completely different story (I owned a A45 AMG) but sales agents are trying everything to move the choice of their potential buyers… it very sad that to do this they have to denigrate other brands/model and not underline the good points of their brand/model…
Machecazzo i Just checked the engine compartment of my panamera and i found a lot of hieroglyphics representing this symbol W W W...... what the fuck.... look at those little germans they lost two world wars but always think there the best, from a beetle they made a USS Enterprise on wheels with the Panamera Turbos S Hibryd and now the best looking electric all day commuter (in my opinion). My friend if you love a sporty driving go on Porsche (this allows you also to drive relaxed in the rare moments you need this) if you love to drive like a Bauscia you must go for Mercedes. If I've to chose between Porsche or Merceds no way, design, performance, service, it's a complete different way of thinking.
Love you all!!!
