Looking for advice on sizing for winter wheels. My Turbo will be delivered in December with the 22-inch Macan Sport wheels and I'm debating between the two winter sets below. Normally I would drop one wheel size (to 21 inch) but I'm wondering if the smaller width of the 20 inch fronts (235 vs 255) is the better way to go for tracking through snow or traction on ice, or if the taller sidewall profile offers any other related benefits. I don't have a strong preference on aesthetics (both look ok to me) so I'm just looking for advice on best winter performance. For reference, I'm in the Toronto area (limited snowfall) but will be spending a lot of time at a country property where roads are not often plowed.

The 20s. You'll get both better traction and better range.

Also FWIW you can get a set off PMCTire as well.

Surely on snow the narrow tire is better than the wide one. However even with the 20 rims the tires will still be very wide and you will float

However absolutely no problem: 15 cm of soft snow and the car was stable as a rock (I went only up). Unfortunately where I would like to see the limit I had a police car going up the same way 🤣🤣🤣🙁

No, 21” rear is 295 while 20” is 285. At Least in Italy
I don't know what to think:

21 " rear wheels tires width drop from 295 down to 285, in the configurator.
I've been asking my Porsche dealer to confirm that by mail to my tire dealer (witch wants a mail) , two weeks ago , no answer 😢

This is correct. I've swapped winter tires to this this exact spec on 21" Macan Design Wheels. Confirmed with the dealer the size for winter tires is different on the same wheel. You can confirm this info in the app - go to the manual and search for tire sizes.

Waiting for the tires delivery next Wednesday :confused::confused:

Edit: in Canada, also ?

I have 295 on 21” wheels for summer and 285 on 20” for winter (as indicated on manual). By the way my winter set was bought directly from Porsche.

Same here, i have 295 summer on my 21 Macan Turbo.
Since the Taycan , i don't buy a winter set, I swap the tires each season changing,

@Daniel You are right: just noticed that they changed the manual since I bought my twitter set in July. Now you can have also the 285 on 21” for winter tires. Sorry for confusion, my fault.

Same here! It’s much cheaper, and since I don’t change the wheels or tires myself, the only downside is that my 21” Macan Design wheels will probably age faster, because of the salt.

I live in the Alps at 800 m altitude, the roads are also salty.
Taycan's wheels have not aged at all, but I am retired and I have plenty of time to often clean them with a high-pressure jet ;)

Merci, that’s reassuring! I don’t know if the alpine roads are as salty as in the US, here they pretty much coat the road, to the point that you have to use your windshield wipers to see through the salt.
