As you (should) know, it is not possible to change the settings of the Normal drive mode - at least in the US.
You can only store a different Chassis or Chassis Level setting under Sport / Sport+ / Off-road.
I mostly drive either in Normal (Chassis set to Normal, Chassis Level set to Low) or in Sport (Chassis set to Sport, Chassis Level set to Low).
Every time I get in the car, I would manually change the Level to Low through a shortcut on the first screen of the PCMā¦ but there is a faster way.
Hereās the trick:
Drive a bit away and the car will revert to the height before Smart Lift kicked in the previous timeā¦ and lower the car (to Low in my case).
My car now just goes from Lift to Low (when I leave home) and back to Lift on its own, without me adjusting anything.
The only caveat is if you change the Drive mode (say to Sport and then back to Normal), youāll need to manually adjust the height again. But if you mostly drive in Normal, youāll be set!

Hereās the trick:
- Enable Smart Lift in the PCM Settings (do it once and forget about it)
- Drive away from home, in Normal drive mode, and once a couple miles out, set your Chassis Level to your preferred height (Low in my case)
- Drive back home and once almost there (100 yards in my case), set the Chassis Level to Lift: this will raise your car above its normal height
- There will be a prompt in the PCM asking if you want to save that location (so it always adjusts the height when you get close): ACCEPT it
- Park home, leave the car, no need to press the POWER button
