After two months of sitting at the Port of Baltimore, the 2024 Macan Turbo EV I ordered in March was finally released to the dealer today. After thinking about how badly Porsche handled this rollout and not feeling comfortable with the dealer's answers to my questions, I asked for my deposit back. I still plan to buy a Macan EV, but I will wait for 2025 in hopes that Porsche can get its act together.
Why not take the car now that the wait is over? Were you worried about it being exposed to the elements at the port for an extended period of time or that there are still outstanding defects?

Regardless, I’m sure others will be happy to buy it from the dealer since the Turbo is currently in such short supply.

I was mostly concerned with how the car was stored at the port. My decision was not meant to punish the dealer as I’m sure someone else will buy the car. I just think its best for me to wait out all of these issues and get a newer model year since the 2025s are going to be released soon.

The car was delivered to the dealer on 09/23.

Full payment was made on 09/25.

Delivery was scheduled for 10/01 but was canceled an hour before arrival to update the software.

To date, I haven’t received any communication from the dealer, and there is no delivery date

not in relation to Macan or even being negative - having ordered 5 or more Porsche's over the years - be prepared to be flexible…that's been my take away.

Excellent thanks @wmras!
Now these 24” design wheels must be bumpy as hell. 🙃
EDIT 28 OCT 2024: I must be road weary - completely spaced out on using 24" instead of 22"!

The 22” wheels are not for those seeking a luxury ride on poor side streets or roads. On most freeways, they are fine. We ordered them only because of the Taycan-like style. They do sharpen the steering response and make Normal Mode drive like Sport Mode.

At PECATL, my instructor suggested staying in Normal every time I selected Sport or Sport+, but I think that was to save the tires from wearing out the inside sidewalls. The event Macan had the same 22” Design wheels on our delivered car.

I was pointing out that they're unlikely 24", most likely 21" or 22". ;)

Macan EV Turbo (on order)

Hi, folks! I have placed my order for Turbo back in February, the build was locked in august and was supposed to enter the production at the end of September with the end of October delivery . Since then the car has been in status 260 with delivery dates pushed back a few times. SA can not confirm what is going on - he did try to get the updates from Porshe, but nothing came back yet (?). I am new to Porshe purchasing experience, but reading various threads looks like production (v260) prolonged status is not unusual?
My other concern is that with the way things are going I will be buying 2024 car in 2025 and considering my plans to keep it for some time, this is not a great position.

Well others here should have the knowledge to get a good answer to some of these questions but my short answer is it seems way too long to be in V260 which is Vehicle entry to body shop. Makes no sense that it is stuck there. Hopefully a more experience Porsche person can answer this.

My car was at Baltimore from early august. Granted, some delay was the strike. Originally it was scheduled to come to the dealer 10/1, then 10/13, then 10/23 and finally got there 10/26

Planned to take deliver 11/2, but software updates prevented that. Hope to get it in the next week. Asked for a loaner, since I don’t have a car. And have been borrowing my in laws car.

If I did have a car, I would think of cancelling and waiting, though I really do want the car.

I cancelled my order and bought a 2025 Lucid Air GT. So glad I did instead of dealing with the headaches from this Porsche rollout.

The sticker price was comparable but the lease deal thst Lucid offered made it much less costly. Porsche lease rates are notoriously bad.

Honestly, I went from an ICE Macan (my fourth one in a row) to the Air GT and enjoy the way it drives more. The 800hp and range is impressive. I thought I would miss sitting up higher, but don't miss it at all.
