Hi, Just picked up the 2024 Macan EV Turbo. I had a Tacan 4S before. The range listed in the Porsche Canada site says 616km…. The day I picked it up the Macan was charge to 100% and the range showed 457km. Anyone getting close to 600km range? The drive is amazing and it looks stunning… but the range is the same is the Taycan from 2020 unless it’s t improves.

No one is getting 600km.

A few things. It takes hundred of KMs for the efficiency to max out.

You're in Canada so it's cold and range is going to be 20-35% lower than summer range.

If you're on 22s you'll lose range from that as well.

You're probably looking closer to 370-410 km of range right now.

From what I've seen I anticipate maybe 15-20% more range than a 2020 Taycan 4S, closer to 10% if you're on 22s.

Interesting. Definitely saw ~20% range drop in the winter with the Taycan. I expected to see about 400km at 80% charge in the winter.

Anyone else have issues with charging outside of home? Tried electrify canada Saturday … 350kw charger (I was at 30%) … after 10 min I had only received 10kw.

If you did not pre heat the battery at least 30 minutes before you will see this slow speed, that is normal … battery needs to be at least 12C before you see any decent speed … preferably 25 …

My Turbo shows around 400 to 450 and it’s not that cold, around 10C … so yeah that is normal.

Good to see. Thanks. Range on the 4 should be 660km according to Porsche Canada website.
I think that this is the WLTP range, something impossible to replicate in real life. Also my Tesla had a 614 WLTP range but I can not exceed 520 kms in summer with no traffic and not in the highway.
This is something that EV cars have in common with ICE cars.

Just want to make sure to mention that the break-in period for the car does reduce range. My improved a ton by about 400 miles.

Also, I find the Macan more sensitive to cold temps than my last Tesla. After a lot of dorking around with settings, it seems that the A/C is a big power draw. Got the HVAC on auto with the A/C turned off unless I need it and got a noticeable efficiency improvement.

I still get confused by this as maybe it’s a country but country thing but in all of my past ICE cars in Canada I never turn on A|C unless it’s hot and I wanted cold air. Is that incorrect and you can actually use “A\C” when it’s cold to help with the heat?

We use AC all year. Two reasons:
- Keeps seals from drying
- “Dryer Mode” to minimize dampness and fogging windows - especially important if getting into vehicle with rain or snow on clothes.

A/c is for warm and cool weather and it also dehumidifies the interior. You should work on the basis it should be "on" at all times by default, and only turn it off in specific circumstances, such as having windows open.

If anything, I would say a/c is more important in winter than summer in order to stop windows from becoming foggy.

Driving a Macan 4 on the sunny and warm Lisbon-Portugal and never saw range above 500Kms for a 100% charged battery. I would like to know the conditions Porsche used to advertise more than 600Kms of range.
