PG&E has been unkind to me - we were at $0.15-0.17/kwh off peak - but some how we're now up to $0.31 or more and trending even higher - peak rates are over $0.65/kWh and at that rate is 3x more expensive to drive my Macan per-mile vs. $5.50 gasoline for a 32 mpg vehicle…pretty sure mine off-peak rate is 14-19 cents..gotta check... But i'm gonna watch the whole video.
but what are they using for the claimed numbers? the WPLT thingy?
everyone said those numbers are wildly off...
.23 at home or at a public charger? That’s either pretty high or pretty cheap.Down here, we pay 23 cents per kwh at off-peak pricing. That means it would cost $23.00 for a "full tank." Plus we have solar so in theory, I'm charging the car off the sun. Is a gas car more convenient? Of course... but there are some fantastic positives they just can't touch.
