I’ll let you know how production of mine goes first lolYes.
Hi! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts! It’s been truly humbling to receive all the interest and feedback in my little side project! Thanks again!@cottony was kind enough to print a cubby organizer and then ship it across the country, here’s a little review of his creation.
Looks and dimensions
This little box is 6” wide at the top and 5” 1/4 at the bottom. It’s 7” 1/2 high and just 1” 1/4 deep.
There are 3 storage areas:
- the left/right ones are 1” 5/8 wide at the top and 1” 1/8 at the bottom
- the middle one is 2” 3/8 wide
This version is black, the finish quality is quite good and smooth to the touch while the bottom part is slightly textured. Overall very good!
Installation and use
Installing the organizer requires finding the right angle to slide it from the side opening of the center console. Took me a couple of tries but once you figure it out, easy to install and remove.
There is tiny gap around it once in place and I was concerned it would move or vibrate as I drove. None of that thankfully.
Without that little space, installing/removing this organizer would be a nightmare so it’s actually just right.
It fits my sunglasses perfectly on the left side, has plenty of room for cards or other accessories in the middle and I’ve added the rectangular EZ-Pass tag on the right for size.
Final thoughts
It looks good, it fits nicely, it doesn’t stand out and is very practical - it’s close to perfect!
The only minor issue is that the surface is so smooth that items slide in the organizer if you accelerate/brake a little hard.
Adding felt inside the 3 areas will solve the problem and be a cheap DIY fix (next weekend?).
I highly recommend this little organizer and if you can’t print it yourself (or don’t want to be bothered managing that), maybe @cottony can hook you up for a small fee too!
You really should offer it on Etsy. I think there's enough people that don't have printers that would want one.Hi! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts! It’s been truly humbling to receive all the interest and feedback in my little side project! Thanks again!
@tmrqs, does that card get you out of speeding tickets? I feel like it’s inevitable I’m gonna get a speeding ticket lol.@cottony was kind enough to print a cubby organizer and then ship it across the country, here’s a little review of his creation.

Agreed, you don't feel the speed at all in the Macan... makes it both super comfortable and a little risky too, tickets-wise.@tmrqs, does that card get you out of speeding tickets? I feel like it’s inevitable I’m gonna get a speeding ticket lol.
In my Tesla I was totally fine going 80 on the highway… but in the Macan that just feels so sloooooooooooooooooooow
Great design and idea. I’d be interested in purchasing one and paying for shipping.hi @NLSF are you in the bay area? im actually from there also, would be happy to get one to you. let me DM you!
I just received my cubby holder. What a brilliant idea. It is so well made, and it slipped in easily. The cubby has a big improvement thanks to you. This is a bit of an intersection of a couple of my hobbies, but wanted to share a cubby organizer I modeled out and 3D-printed for the area beneath the climate controls.
I kept the initial design pretty simple; I uploaded the files to thingiverse if you'd like to play around with the design. If you have suggestions/improvements I'd also be happy to make those modifications for you.
The cubby area doesn't have any large openings, so the best way I found to install the organizer was sliding it in from the side.
The rule of thumb is to print using PETG for car accessories (to reduce heat warping), but in mild climates, I've been able to use PLA without much warping. Total cost of print was $3.27 (but I'm sure if Porsche was selling this, they would add their logo to it and mark it up to $50 )
wow they look amazing! Thanks for sharing!3D print done!
I will add synthetic alcantara to have a perfect finish
black or dark grey, I have to make the decision

Thank you very much for designing and sharing @cottony
wow! looks perfect to me!Finally: full alcantara covering!
far from perfect (for example, I should have started with the inside upper/lower side, then done the other sides... and several other tips) but as it's not very visible, it's not a major problem.
side note: I have a better understanding of the “why” is full leather is so expensive, just a pain in the ass to do it!
