Hi All,

Has anyone noticed there appears to be 2 steps to turn the car off?
Normally I hit Park and then click on the Off button. I find that to turn the car off I need to click the off button twice.
Have noticed though that I can click "off" only once and exit the vehicle and lock the car.
Not sure if it's a glitch or whether it's supposed to work this way?

No need to click off, just park and walk away.

OK, I'll give it a try - so stop car, press Park - leave everything on, open door and walk away and lock the car. If it works, the on/off button is only used to turn on the car?

Also don’t need to turn on, just move to D. And drive.
You might need to go to Car settings to enable all the Comfort entrance options (like auto lock/unlock, fold mirrors, etc).
But it works beautifully once set up.

You can set it to lock on leaving and unlock on approach. Just walk up, open the door, put it in gear and your off. Usually carplay is ready by the time you open the door. When done, put it in Park (may not be necessary but I do it anyway), open the door, get out and walk away. The car will lock and turn everything off when you get about 6 feet away.

All correct if you have comfort access and as ros says selected the right settings. I’ve only had the car 4 days and mine works flawlessly as well. Does take a bit of a ’brain train’ to just walk away with the music playing and to just select drive and go. One thing I found is to be mindful that if the car is plugged in and charging and you walk within 900’ (I think) then the car will open and interrupt charging.

I didn’t option comfort entry on my 4 but it works the same way. I unlock with the key as I approach and as soon as I sit in the driver seat the car turns on (sensor in the driver seat i guess). When I leave the car turns off as soon as the driver’s door is shut.

Thanks, I also forgot to option the comfort entry, good to hear that it will still work except you have to physically press the lock button. So sounds like no extra comfort settings I would need to set for it to work.

yeah, there's almost no need to use the power button. I pretty much only use it if i'm sitting the car and it turns off after about 30 mins...and i want to turn the radio back on...
otherwise, i just get out and walk away...cars turns off on it's own when the key is out of range.

Even without comfort entry the driver seat moves back when you open the door to make it easier to get in. I was surprised by this as I thought you’d need to have comfort entry for this feature. I don’t mind pressing the key to lock and unlock and on my last car (Audi A7) I found comfort entry irritating as just accidentally brushing by a door handle would lock or unlock the car. Plus the extra battery usage and danger of thieves using amplifiers to steal cars with comfort entry.

I noticed I only had issues with software when I turned the car on/off. Now I just Park and walk away.

I used to just hold power button until the car powers off, but noticed it would power back up before I got out of the car. So now I also don't bother with the button at all. The car powers off as soon as I close the door and walk away. The button does have a satisfying, squishy press though. 👆

You can turn this off in the settings.

the comfort access option is only dealing with the gesture/wireless/remote/proximity features

I stand corrected. There's comfort access, and comfort entry
