As been discussed elsewhere, Porsche's LEDs do not comply with the US standards that were passed. There is no software only compliant upgrade. I would not count on Porche offering a retrofit option as both hardware and software as well as certification for the model year would be required. I would not count on a retrofit if it was only software. A third party programer may be able to update the software for off road use.Headlight matrix technology is now allowed in the US. This was passed recently and we can expect Porsche to turn it on with a software update for those that have selected the option.
Maybe. The US requirements are a lot different from EU requirements (distance, brightness, and response time). That's why none of the manufacturers have turned it on so far, because it's so different and it requires certification for the uS.Headlight matrix technology is now allowed in the US. FYI - The gen 2 Rivian comes enabled with matrix ability. Just need to get these other manufacturers to go through the approval process.Maybe.
