shame that you guys even have to worry about this. I guess it really is dependent on where you live. But I find that for the most part, ppl are just to looking to find stuff IN your car to take, rather than taking the whole car itself...
best to just not leave things in site. or in the car at all...
Yes...or you can live on an island like me. They will never make it on or off the Ferry before they are nabbed. The best they can do is drive around the island for a while until they get caught. On a related note your phone can already track the location of the vehicle but you can always add an apple air tag

yah, i don't live on an island, as nice as that sounds...but i'm not really concerned about the car being stolen in my area... the macan will be garage kept, but i couldn't tell you the last time i locked my car doors even when they're parked on the street in front of my house.

now if i go downtown...that's a different story

Relatedly in terms of vehicles being broken in for possessions, two third of cars which are broken in have items which can be seen through the windows. Seeing a computer, package, or similar through the windows is great for a thief to choose which car to break into — and which one to conversely walk by. BTW, this percentage has held true for the last three decades, for consumers are still often too lazy to put their possessions out of sight. This stat holds true for vehicle in parking garages, those parked in the street, and also those left out on driveways overnight. I thankfully live in an almost crime free neighborhood. The only vehicle break-in in years was a 17 year old who had just gotten her license the month before, parked in the street overnight with her laptop visible on the back seat. She had never left anything in sight since. Sorry it happened for her, but probably a life long lesson in her case.

Bit late to this - got my macan last month to replace my stolen Taycan...

Getting the newly launched "Ghost III" immobilser installed next week which is apparently compatible on the car.

Have read about people saying it might invalidate the warranty but losing the car is more of a risk to me.

Anyone else had this installed in the UK ?

Sounds like you never recovered tracked down your Taycan if you had to replace it.

Did you consider Porsche Vehicle Tracking (PVTS+)?

Yup that’s typically how they operate.
And also the reason I didn’t opt for comfort access
You still have to use the keyfob to unlock / lock the car which is no different really - signal could be intercepted regardless.

Increasingly Porsche are making Comfort Access standard on many of their models.
