In the manual for the 2025 macan EV the only way to activate the heated windshield is to use the max front windshield button. In the manual for the 2025 macan ICE there are two ways to toggle the heated windshield mode.

There are other reports in this forum of people having issues with togging the heated windshield via the rear defrost button. This makes me believe that we have once again been lied to by the porsche configurator

I was driving in cool humid weather, and the inside of the windshield began fogging. I thought this would be a good opportunity to test the heated windshield. First, I put on the rear defogger.

After waiting a couple of minutes to see if anything happened (it did not), I shut off the rear defogger and turned on the front max defrost. The fog cleared after a few seconds. I then turned down the fan speed. The max defrost light went out.

I then pressed the climate menu button. Looking at the climate display, I saw that the up-arrow air distribution button/icon was lit for driver and passenger (car was in Sync mode); mid-level and lower-level were not lit. I also saw that the graphic appeared to be showing "wind current" images on the windshield. I was driving and did not have a chance to play with this further, but this leads to the questions: 1. What do the wind gust depictions mean? 2. How do you change them? 3. Once you have used the Max button, and you want to go back to "normal," what do you need to do (e.g. press Auto (which also turns on a/c if it's off), press the Max button again (which does shut it off but what mode does it go into), control the airflow from the climate menu? 4. What if you have adjusted the fan speed in between as I did (does the windshield then stay on?)

Edit: As far as I can tell, the app manual is of no help in figuring this out.

Ok, now that a lot of us has taken delivery, what options you would’ve / should’ve gotten, and what options you wouldn’t spend on next time (for your ‘28 Macan EV GTS). Perhaps this helps your future self and/or some of the community who’s still shopping.

For me:
- The passenger display is almost never used.
- Haven’t used the rear seat heating either. Knowing what I know now, its probably a huge drain on the battery
- I should’ve gotten the 22” RS Spyder’s painted gloss black.
- The blacked out headlights and rear logo look really cool but probably not worth the money.

Ok so one small thing but worth sharing as I found a way to spruce it up. I did not select the backlight logo on the 18 way seats but after getting the car the seat area seems to beckon for something instead of a blank plastic insert so I had a trophy shop make me some plates (durablack aluminum) which when etched have a nice beige (very light non silver lettering) and tried these out on my seats. I show the before and after you can see the photo below. I think it looks like it was meant to be there (and way less $$$)

The happy surprise was seeing the etched letters are a perfect tint of chalk-beige with no color added. Even my wife approved ( which is saying a lot)

I'm going to note the offroad front fascia is a LOT more noticeable than anticipated AND includes a rear piece. I like it, but it's pretty substantial.

I'll take photos when I get it back from ceramic.

This is the spec. They will have the template already done and know what your talking about.

Durablack plates irregular shape 5.25" x 0.75" engraved PORSCHE

Note that this is totally custom and they do not laser cut the metal. They etch and sheer it so you will have to cut along the outline with some tin snips and then file smooth. So getting them exactly how I wanted them involved some elbow grease. the metal is soft so easy to cut but also easy to scratch (as I learned) so you need to cover up the front with painters tape when your cutting. They also provide double sided tape but you need to ask them to put it on.

Here are some tools I used (snips, painters tape, two sided tape).

If you are not into the manual labor then you can always ask a local trophy shop to do the same. My place may be willing to send you the template. Cost was $25 CND dollars each.

I ordered 4 because I wanted to practice on one (and good thing because I scratched one and scraped it).

If you go local then just tell them you want Durablack Aluminum material and have them make it. The black is mat and perfectly matches the Porsche insert. The etching results in lettering that matches chalk-beige interior (a.k.a. limestone in other countries).
