We pointed this out in the showroom on collection but sharing a picture taken today. To me, this seems really poor for a £80k car.
Keen to hear if anyone with manual covers has a similar problem or if our's is a one-off?

Thanks in advance!

Did the dealer say they would address/replace it? Our car is power cover door, so can't comment, but it fits as would be expected.

@krissrock is 100% correct - eagle eye'd kriss should be his new handle…

your car has rear fender damage - it was either done before delivery or after delivery - but your cover is misaligned because something has impacted the rear fender…

see the same photo from my Macan below…

I’m afraid it certainly looks like the body panel above the wheel arch trim has been damaged, which I expect has distorted the whole panel and this is why your charging port cover doesn’t fit flush.

it's a "one off" - to quote the OP - because that vehicle/fender has incurred an impact!

so yeah - impact related damage causes body panels to fit poorly…

not sure because of the low defined picture, but even the door seems not normal at the edge…
very strange damage IMO

My manual ports have acceptable fit. Not perfect, but acceptable. Coleton commented about my starboard side port not being perfect in his build quality review video on our OOS Detailing channel. If you watch that video, just be aware he is super nit picky. The issue you are showing is BLATANTLY bad but should be an easy dealer swap/fix… The fact that this beast left the factory in this condition is a whole different red flag QC issue imho

I sincerely hope the original poster realizes that there is rear fender damage as mentioned previously in this thread, likely causing the fitment issue. That fitment issue on the charge port door would be very unlikely on its own. The rear fender/quarter panel damage is very obvious to many of our eyes.

As many pointed out the car has been damaged (look at panel above the wheel well). Unless you have managed to photograph an optical illusion 🤔. Pretty sure the factory would not have let that out so shipping damage? Maybe
