Took delivery of my new Macan Electric Turbo and my expectations have been exceeded thus far. I do have two questions that I can't figure out how to solve and could use some help:

1. It appears Apple EV Route Planner is not compatible or enabled for the Macan Electric, or I just can't get it working. Anyone else having this issue?
2. Plug and Charge is grayed out within PCM and will not enable in the My Porsche app. Under Account/Charging Service in the app it also shows "Please activate Plug & Charge for your Porsche Charging Service contract." Any ideas?

I don't know the answer to your question, but would you mind sharing a mini-review of the car so far? (perhaps in a different thread)

plug&charge is a contract service provided via your PorscheID like Porscheconnect - check for services in your porsche portal on the web or talk with your dealers - there is some service-side provisioning that needs to be done by Porsche - it's called the Porsche charging service - at least it was for Taycan and once you active your Porsche charging service and set it up you can use Plug&Charge…

Quick update: Spoke to Porsche Connected services and Apple EV Route Planning is coming to the Macan Electric in the future after a software update. It’s already provisioned on their end, so it’s only a matter of time.

Regarding the Plug and Charge, that is something the dealer needs to initiate to unblock it. I am still waiting for a solution and may have to go back to the dealer for them to reset it after it’s unblocked.

Will those updates be available over the air, or will we need to bring the car to the dealer?

I was told over the air, but given the lack of knowledge since it’s so new, I am not sure I believe that.

Another update regarding the Plug and charge. The dealer has to initiate something to enable the service. Once completed you can request a certificate via the My Porsche App under functions/charging then click on the gear icon on the top right. Toggle the plug and charge and follow the prompts to request a certificate. If it’s spins and does nothing then the dealer did not activate it. A few minutes later the certificate can be installed after the request is accepted. Hope this helps.

That would be really great, I use Apple Maps all the time and this integration would be really great, so I hope this is real!

USA Macan 4. Our plug and charge did not authorize although we had a valid subscription. Turns out it is a know problem with malformed cert installed in car before we recieved it. It needs to be deleted by the dealer (possibly could be done by myself) and good cert re-installed. Will let folks know if that worked.

Based in the UK and I have the same issue and the dealer had no clue at all!

Issue was noticed on collection around a month ago, I raised with Connect Services Support and they couldnt fix it or understand why it was happening. Escalated to Germany and after 3 weeks they have given the details of what is needed to be done to the dealer. I have to take the car back in.

@DuckMan Would be great to know if you did sort it and what they/you did.

Thanks!

@stevieg They reset everything and did an update that Porsche said would fix it. It did not do the trick and screwed up a lot of my settings. The final solution after that was to turn compatability mode in 'gear settings' under 'charging' on and then off. It then allowed me to enable plug and charge as it was no longer grayed out and download the certificate. Still need to verify at EA charging vendor, but looks good.

That sounds encouraging... The best I have so far is that the dealer has to do an 'SMT' whatever that is. Turning compatibility mode on and off didnt work for me at the moment so I guess will need the dealer to do something first.

Will let you know!

Sorry. Coming from quite a few other brands, these types of new (first year) model roll out software problems is what I have experienced on every single new model I bought.

Maybe I should listen to JD Power and Edmunds who suggest that no matter what is the new model, there are going to be a disproportionate amount of irritating first year bugs, e.g, the desirability of waiting until the second year. Nah, I am way too impatient, will never learn to wait until second model year.

Hopefully these Macan EV rollout issues more than a few have/are experiencing, are fully resolved very soon.
