About to receive a Macan 4 and have received a message form the dealer stating that during PDI it was found that the automatic dimming interior and exterior mirror option has not been fitted by Porsche at the factory.

This is an option I selected and had to pay for. The dealer is saying it hasn't been fitted due to supply issues?

I know this is now standard on MY25 cars. Do you think Porsche has just made an error and not fitted this option? I am being asked to accept the car without the option but would prefer to have it. Just curious if anyone else has experienced the same issue.

Thanks

That's a bummer. Was this an early order? You could ask for a refund for the option or if it is a deal breaker reject it. Out of interest does your car come with the 230v socket in the boot. This was also a cost option but now standard equipment.

Yeah it was an early order before it became standard equipment.
Not sure if it will have the 230v socket but I would guess no.
Not having the dimming external mirrors doesn’t bother me so much. The internal one does though and a car of this cost should not offer this as an option.

I would not accept. My taycan was specced without and I hate driving it at night. I will be relieved when my macan is delivered within a few weeks as winter means a lot more driving in the dark. Of course seating position is way lower compared to a macan. Also realize retrofit will not be possible for exterior mirrors as the wiring harness to the mirrors will be different. So if you regret there is no way back.

Thanks I was going to ask if the dealer could retrofit the option. Not sure what to do at the minute.

I bought the taycan as a cpo at 9 months old. It seemed perfect. But then I realized the option was missing  . Modern cars have such strong lights that nowadays I consider this a safety feature.

Regardless it should have been fitted if you paid for it.

Agree I’ve paid for the option. Pretty disappointed with the Porsche service, still unsure what the best option is.

Sorry this has happened to you. I personally wouldn't accept the car.

I would tell them to reorder and provide you with a loan car until your new order arrives. They are in breach of contract. In UK I had a similar issue with Polestar not supplying my car as ordered and after some negotiating and raising at high level ( I sent Linked in message to CEO) they provided me a new and fully insured (at their expense) equivalent loan Polestar for four months until new order arrived. Would have been even longer but I got an exact match cancellation after four months. I was delighted as I put on over 6k miles including European road trip before my brand new car arrived!

Well... I simply forgot to add the option in the ordering process. I have the car since a couple of weeks now. Honestly, so far I did not have problems. May be because it is taller than most of the other cars. Anyway it is a pity that this option (as some others) was not standard un such a car.

i don't quite understand what this option even is?
is sounds like the OP is talkin about parking/greeting lights or something... and others are talkin about head/driving lights...

what is this option?

wait...so i just found it. I guess i never noticed it, cuz it's standard!!
oh they should definitely rectify this. Don't accept until it's fixed or the car is replaced

i'm assuming this is, when you open the doors, the interior lights come on, and go off when the doors are closed? idk how that's not built into the OS of the entire car. if it's standard, it shouldn't be a box that could be accidently unchecked during the build

No it’s an option (optional like it was on my Stelvio QV) to have the internal and side mirrors dimmed when hit by a strong light (usually from a vehicle behind you with not the best headlight setup /active setup…) They became darker and light doesn’t make you a blind driver 🤣🤣
