None of my Bose speakers were working using any media when I got in my car to drive home today. Tried to make a tighter connection on the Bose plug under the trunk but still didn’t work. Locked the car and when I returned about 10 minutes later the speakers were working.

I didn’t reboot the PCM but I guess turning the car off and leaving it for a few minutes reset the speakers. Not sure if fiddling with the Bose plug really helped or not.
Nope, no need to fiddle with the plugs.
Happened to me a couple times, same lock-the-car-wait-a-bit steps worked, just one of those gremlins.

Glad to know I’m not alone. Btw, this speaker gremlin is not unique to Porsche EVs since my wife has the same issue/fix in her Ford F-150.

Had this gremlin more than once (no sound, sound only on the left side, sound only in the front speakers) and found out that disconnecting the sub connector in the trunk, count 10 to 0 is faster than closing the car and wait. Just my 2c. About this it reminds me my previous Tesla M3LR when the infotainment showed a problem every week (even if with it a simply reboot of the PCM solved the problem without stopping). It's time for an update of the PCM, come on Porsche :p:p:p

That just happened to me as well this morning. No sound at all from any speaker. Somehow I was able to make a call and sound came through. Waiting an hour or so and it is back. Weird.

Car is 4 days old :-(

I don't think there's much Porsche can do about it. The Android audio stack is pretty limited and buggy. Maybe there's a Porsche-specific bug in there somewhere, but this type of complaint seems to be in the forums for basically all AAOS cars.

Have definitely seen it on Rivian and Polestar, and others have called out Ford and GM products as well.

No luck for me, after several reboots, PCM reset, factory reset, connector on-off, no more Bose... nor sound setting menu for a week.
An appointment has been made for next week with my dealer, who will take the opportunity to do the "major ?" update, update which according to him will solve this problem.

This just happened to me, no sound at all, drove home, tried to disconnect to one in the boot, no luck. Left for 30 mins and now back on. Just 2 weeks old. Hopefully a one off.

This has happened to me twice now. Each time, the symptoms are specifically that music doesn't work. Only music and music in every flavor (radio, CarPlay, non Car Play integrations) does not work.

Also, both times I have had this happen, I get the "Component Protection Active" error message when the car starts. In both times, it starts with "lock car, walk away" being a solution that works, then steadily worsens until nothing but a dealer appointment resolves the issue.

Here's what I have tried latest round:
-Reset with volume button held in for 30 seconds
- Disconnect/reconnect Subwoofer plug

Is there anything else I should try? A factory reset? Disconnect battery terminal?

This is incredibly frustrating as there appears otherwise to be nothing wrong with the vehicle. So I am driving around in a $100k car with a bluetooth speaker on the passenger seat while I await my appt because "component protection active" whatever TF that means.

Porsche has a software quality problem, and it is not getting better. This is worse than my Taycan ever was and that was the platform where they were presumably working out the bugs. Just because Tesla rolls with the "we launch garbage, and bugfix our way out of it with 'continuous improvement'" doesn't give a brand like Porsche permission to do the same. Owners should spend zero time even thinking about the software that powers their vehicle

Is that the recall? If so, I've not yet taken in for the recall, recall service will be done at the same time as this.

Last recall service ,done at the same time, solved the problem for me.
Complete sound system was off, no more Bose menu, an Android bug (i had a very short error message , one time).
