This bulletin shows their approach to such problems.

"In the event of a customer complaint" tell it's by design and perhaps the customer will go away.

"In the event of customer escalation" admit OK there is a way to fix it.

They call it "subjectively unpleasant function" so as not to admit this a very clear case of bad design - the same could be said about the rattling seatbelt.

I think it's similar to the cracking sound coming from suspension over bumps but this one is much more expensive to fix so those affected are left on their own.

I drove into a couple of unpaved parking lots with the AC screaming. No dust cloud or evil eye from the other people in the parking lot! Success.

Thanks for bringing this up. I contacted my dealership and I’m going to ask them to install this modification. According to my brief research, this would be more pronounced on the GTS given that it’s lower on the ground and the intensity of the airflow would be more because of the thermal management system.

Earlier this month, London reached 37°C (98°F). When I returned to my car, which had been parked in an open-air unpaved car park, I switched the A/C on and it created a sandstorm that was nothing short of biblical! I can’t imagine that amount of dust and grit being blasted around the car is doing the paintwork any favours.

Is there any downside to having the modification installed in terms of efficiency, performance or noise?

Also, I normally drive with the suspension set to Low. In that situation, would leaving the car at Normal ride height have reduced the amount of dust being kicked up, or would it have made little difference?

On a positive note, I’ve been impressed with the A/C in the Macan EV. I was driving in 116 F (47 C) and the system kept up with the thermal load; interior stayed cool.

This dust issue is yet another very serious design flaw.

If you park the car on dusty road during summertime you will pull sand out of your teeth, it will be all over the interior, I have never seen anything like this in any other car.

Some people don't mind thought, either they like dust or don't use a car in such scenario.

You are totally right.

A known design flaw, even known by Porsche, but they relentlessly keep thinking it's just an inconvenience that doesn't require a recall. Luxury car? lol

My 2025 black loaner is full of dust, in and out, I've stopped cleaning it...

It falls under a technical service bulletin TSB, which is OK because this is really not a safety issue. That said I’m not a fan of how they issue them as “do only if the customer complains”. I know that’s how service bulletins work across manufacturers, but it’s annoying when there is a known issue and they don’t reach out proactively. I think a better service model would be for the manufacturers service departments to at least let owners know if they request a service bulletin review or do it automatically when they bring it in for service rather than doing it only if there’s a complaint.

I have not noticed any increase in noise. The dealership did ask if knew this would not be optimal but made no other comments about warrantIes. During beach weather I go to unpaved parking lots 2-3 times a week. The fix works like a charm.

I’m rarely in unpaved car parks / dusty environments so may give it a miss then
