Does anyone know what specifically the “Dynamic Positioning” setting in the HUD is designed to do? It’s noticeable absent from the online manuals, unless I’ve somehow managed to miss it.

On another note, does anyone feel the Macan HUD has a bit of a weird floaty feeling? Not something I’ve experienced in other HUD systems.

The focus point is different for sure. On the iX it feels like the hud is about at the bumper, which takes a bit of focus switching but isn’t bad. On the Macan I did notice it was different but not sure if it’s better or worse, something to get used to. It may have something to do with the AR or size of the hud area.

I feel like my wife's iX HUD is way too low and I overlook it whereas I feel like the Macan's HUD is too high (at its lowest setting). I will say that the Macan's HUD excels over the iX in terms of wearing polarized sunglasses. In the iX I can't see the HUD at its brightest setting while wearing my sunglasses and in the Macan I can still see it ...

The position of the display moves in concert with the steering wheel and the directions you are following. This is the dynamic part. You can adjust the brightness and the vertical positioning in the settings for the HUD. I moved it lower and lowered the brightness - the latter to avoid seeing the outline of the display screen at night.

It usually disappears. The easiest way is to say "Hey Porsche," turn on the HUD display. Then you can set it to the right button on the steering wheel.

Also note that the name in the menu is not “Dynamic positioning” but “Dynamic adjustment”. A better name would be “Dynamic brightness” or “Auto brightness”.
It's called Dynamic Positioning on my Macan, see pic...

Strange. I wonder if that is country-dependent. In my car it is called “Dyn. adjustment” and appears to change the brightness only.

I just had the idea of changing the language to German (my native tongue) to see what the engineers intended, but the only languages selectable in the US are English, French and Spanish.
