No Drill front license plate holder UPDATED WITH INSTALL and ORDER info

Welp, I just got a ticket for no front plate on the streets of SF. My stupid luck. All these options are gonna ruin the look, can I just pay the ticket and not fix it?

Yes. I tried the Carbiano mount and it was not super sturdy and blocked the front camera when properly installed. It didn’t survive the car wash and I didn’t want to have to remember to remove it for the car wash. I ended up getting the adhesive replica plate and it’s great. You’d have to be looking close to know it’s not metal. From a few steps away looks just like a regular plate

so I do the sticker and it avoids fix-it tickets…which BTW Mountain View, CA will write you for this even when parked downtown and away from your vehicle…{sigh}

i thought they gave up once the model 3 was a thing bc it delivered without a front license plate and there's like a million of them running around the bay area.

son got written for his model Y on hwy 280 north 2 months ago - a fine officer was staking out that spot on 280 exclusively for front plate violations - my son was apparently #34 at 11 am’ish on that day

he order the front plate decal the next day

Is it a fixit type ticket where you need to show the fix to an inspection station to clear the ticket? Do the fines increase as the violation count goes up? A decade ago I'd zip tie my front plate to my SLK's bumper in a way that looked OEM to the casual observer for inspections. I drove it 100,000 miles and did not have the pleasure of being pulled over for a violation, however. The SA mentioned that being pulled over for a plate violation gives the opportunity for the police to investigate other things.

the fine is irrelevant to me - but you have to "prove resolution" to get the ticket cleared, and this involves dealing with govt. bureaucratic that will never be able to afford a Porsche and don't seem inclined to value my time in order to inspect my resolution for fixing it…

I have the front plate on the car to avoid any reason for them to involve themselves in my life…over something as trivial as displaying a license plate.

it's not the money-fine I''m avoiding, it's the time wasted when I do get caught to prove I fixed it.

I've twice been written while parked and away from the vehicle - some jurisdictions go on "funding drives" with their meter maids and rather than checking for parking fines, they check for front plate violations and you come back to your car to find a nice shiny "fix it" ticket because you decided to have lunch somewhere…

that would require fenders/body parts that are magnetic - not sure what body parts on a modern porsche meet that criteria - and frankly too much hassle to remember to do it and if you get a ticket you still need to "prove" you fixed it - which a magnetic plate won't pass inspection for "the fix".

I was just kidding @daveo4EV! Besides, I know you have and are able to get the sticker one in California, unfortunately only there. I am lucky to be in Georgia where only a back license plate is required.

Sounds brutal. The quick disconnect plate holder I use would solve some of this. No drilling or glue on the paint surface. A few screws and your set. There is a spring loaded pull pin that you could use to remove it in 5 seconds. It is really sturdy (no vibration or tilting). The cost of this is equal to about ticket

Note this version does not work if you have the off-road front fascia on your car. If you have the front fascia then call them and see if they are designing one for the front fascia. They custom design these and they cost about $140 cnd (approx)

STO N SHO works well and is easy enough. However it's best to remove plate if at a car wash. As in it may well get bent. Had one on a Taycan and that's how I know.
