Coming from Tesla Model S.

With interest rates where they are at, and depreciation looming, I thought I'd try to do the "reasonable" config. Not too over the top, but not basic.

I found I definitely started more higher than not, but gradually really thought about things and got to a really great spot.

Here is where I wound up. And or course, it is not hard because even standard no options Macan EV is awesome.

(In USD and in North America)

Paint:

Hard one but wound up with Aventurine Green Metallic. Looking for something Porsche with some historical context but not too flashy, and this fits the bill.
Okay so not off to good start as this is the 2480 option.

Wheels:

Stuck with standard wheels. I actually really like the clean not too spoke-y look about them.

Interior:

Very hard one as I really like wrap around leather. But the leather package in black at 960 just really makes sense over the next level full at 3000, especially when it looks like you get the dashboard stitching without having to go full leather. So leather package in Black which goes well with green. (Of course the brown club goes the best with green but that's not this config)

Exterior:

Side Blades in Exterior Color - controversial but I had a suburu back in the day and any black plastic bits on car makes me think Subaru. Which is why I avoided the off road package too.

Roof rails - feel just looks better with them, in black for green. (I would have got silver if I had blue)

Trailer hitch - functional for bikes.

Interior:

Compass - I think this area needs some thing, and I didn't like just the second hand, and the Porsche nice clock was too much, and I really like the old school vibe of a good compass on the dash. Definitely like the altitude reading too for EV.

Sport Sound - ok, I'm totally of split minds on this one. Brain says dumb, heart says, boy that is fun. And Porsche actually did it correctly in that it doesn't sound like a car engine, but sounds like a really cool electric engine, that is just loud. So my brain can handle while my heart has fun.

Rear Wiper - in my area, very useful, but can see why people would like things more clean. I went for it.

InnoDrive - coming from Tesla S FSD this is a must. I'm hoping they keep on going with it and update to make it better.

115 power socket - just handy.

So that's it, came to 89k. That feels perfect. Especially with the 7500 credit if leasing.

Things I didn't get and why:

Parking assist and wrap around - just one of those things I have but never use so thought why not just skip it and cut to the chase of not using it.

Second display - Looks cool with all those screens, but like more the classic look. And also, see my passenger with iPad, and not using that screen.

HUD - very cool to try, recommend taking a test drive to check it out, but didn't like the big bump and rectangular hole it puts on dash to make it work. May be back when they hide it better to keep the lines.

Massage seats - tempting but wasn't sure about how much I would use. And it feels so, what, overly fancy? But I do understand that many people love these so wasn't an easy decision to forgo.

Vent seats - I do like these, but didn't like all the perforations it added to the seats. That's probably just me.

Rear wheel steering - tempting too, but seemed to add a layer of complexity to things, and it's fine, I'll K turn it.

Anyway, that's my reasonable config. If it helps others. As I spent way too much time obsessing over it.

Maybe after the lease, which I'll probably do to get the 7500, hope it doesn't go away, I'll go the other way and do a blown out config with all the deviated stitching and puddle lights and bespoke everything...

Looking forward to it.

EDIT

Some other things:

DIdn't do the BOSE sound because it takes up that well space. That well space is super useful as I've found in Teslas. Would be nice if they found spot for woofer and amp that is not that spot.

Didn't do the electric opening charger plug because too slow and if iced harder to open. Best to keep that simple and fast.

EDIT2

This is for Macan 4. Needed the 4 wheels, and liked a little extra pep with out the bit of range loss of the S.

In general, the spec is designed to be simple, classic, and reasonable price wise ready for high interest and depreciation.

Welcome to the forum @evdriver2016. Great comprehensive context around options rationale. Would you please configure it on the site and share the build code, which would be the best way for the forum members to review your build and provide feedback.

The context around each option decision is very helpful.

My feedback:

Paint: Very personal, but this color is unique to the Macan line with Macan EV.

Wheels: Standard wheels are best for range and comfort. I would advise to check what tires come standard (all seasons) and what tires you can option (summer) for no cost as some overlook this.

Interior: Leather Package has good leather coverage, but I would look at one in person to see if you would be comfortable with vinyl doors, vinyl airbag module on the steering wheel, and many other areas that will not be covered vs. full Leather Interior option on a $80K+ car.

Exterior: Side Blades in Exterior Color, Roof Rails, Trailer Hitch - awesome.

Compass is good but the PCM has a digital compass with altitude to mention in case you did not know. The old vibe on a Porsche is the Sports Chrono clock, while not very useful, it is there to honor the heritage.

Sport Sound - I found it to be not very loud on my Macan 4 test drive, but I recommend having it for a functional reason that it provides additional feedback of sound and vibration and known to help passengers with car sickness given how quiet the car is.

Rear Wiper - Personal preference. Looks better without. Very little functional use given the window is very slanted and small. A good ceramic window treatment would repel rain.

InnoDrive - Good idea, but not comparable to FSD. The big confusion for many who decide not to option it miss out on ALK even if you do not use InnoDrive features.

Rear wheel steering - This one I would try to convince you to reconsider. This is a long and wide car and you benefit from this feature at low speed parking or maneuvering and then you benefit from smooth lane changes at high speeds. This tech has been solid on Porsches so complexity point is not a strong one.

Have fun building!

Very much my thinking and similar spec although options are different in UK. I have also gone for Aventirine Green but with green black leather. I didn’t spec Inno drive but did add ACC. I dont like self driving and have it turned off in existing car but use ACC all the time. I added 360. Camera as I need it for difficult reverse around corner to my charger. Also added matrix headlights but we get full benefit in UK and once you have tried them you would never go back. My only extravagance was air suspension and off road bumper. Asa fishermen I drive up a lot of tracks and muddy fields. In UK came in at£80k which is similar. I tried a similar spec on an Audi Q6 Etron came in £20k more because you can only buy 3 different trim levels in UK and not spec specifics

I like your thinking - I tried to do the same thing. 4S on order - just received word from Porsche that my vehicle is now at Stage 3.

I tried to have some options 'control' - with that in mind - here's what I did:

Volcanic Grey
Rear wheel steering (I love this feature!)
Base 'Summer' tires
Full brown club leather package truffle brown (I indulged)
Compass
Rear wiper
Premium package
Porsche Innodrive

I came in at a shade under USD $100,000.

Before the config was frozen - I weakened, and ordered the HUD.

But even now being a bit above $100k, I feel that I'm getting 90% of the turbo - for a significantly reduced total cost.

Sounds good. I only wish we could specify tyres in UK. I need all season but we can only get summer here despite all seasons being far more suitable. Question. Is do I ditch them and buy what I want or put up with them until they need changing. That’s what I did on current Polestar and they have gone and done 40k miles and still good for another 10k plus

@Salmonfisher
The specs you mention are very similar to mine, in Ice Grey. It came to ÂŁ81k
Just to add, I did not option RWS. Turning circle seems fine. I guess if you don't have it you don't know what you are missing : )
