One of those stupid regulations! I am not sure an infant (only little person able to fit there) has the coordination, dexterity, and intellectual development capable of pressing the release button! Also, not sure how the infant got in there in the first place! Or maybe I am wrong and there are small enough children or grownups in the world! I guess I will have to check when friends with small children come to visit… 😂

Ok, it must be a regulation that depends on the country. I saw many trunks without such a device. Even the picture in the manual lacks it.

Well, if it is a regional regulation, it seems that there are places in the world where children are expendable...

That's definitely a good use case for the frunk! I was told by the technician (on delivery) that the frunk should be closed by pressing down on the Porsche logo and not anywhere else or it would warp the hood. That kind of made me a bit paranoid to use it frequently. I will make sure it does not leak before putting my backpack that holds my work laptop.
Same on the 911. Good habit.

I checked the frunk after driving in the rain and didn't see any visible water past the seals. When I touched the carpet it was wet!!

This is unfortunate because I really don't want to go back to the dealer to fix anything...

They'll hold onto the car for weeks and do absolutely nothing.

A lot of cars now sound an alarm every time you turn off the motor to remind you to check the back seat for occupants. All this because of a couple of tragic incidents of children being left in the back. Now everyone has to be reminded, whether they have children or not to check the back seat after every single drive.

Every salesperson seems to be educated to use the badge to close the frunk, but that advice is a bit controversial. Some of the 911's with aluminum hoods, eventually, sustained damage where the badge was indented a couple of millimeters.

I use two hand across the front edge of the frunk to close because the material is thinker along edge and the force is distributed across a larger area. Most will never have issues, regardless of their technique.
My salesperson bent his elbow and used his entire forarm across the front of the hood to spread the load, and suggested I do the same.

yeah, it's not a made up thing. Kids play in all kinds of things they're not supposed to...in the cars, UNDER cars...
besides that, it's a manual release for whenever the electronics dies. My friends BMW had an issue like that. Trunk release stopped working, so he had to go through the back seats to hit the emergency release

ehh probably overkill. There's bracing behind the badge. and it's only like a 1 inch push

From the Macan EV manual online. Guess what’s right above the latch mechanism? you guessed right, the emblem. Side benefit, keeps your paint free of hand prints.
