Drove for an hour on the expressway while it was snowing. Upon stopping, I noticed there was a decent amount of snow in the frunk.

Also, when I go through a car wash I get water inside the frunk.

Is this normal?

I was worried about this as I saw one reviewer complaining of water getting into the frunk. However, I have checked for this problem since receiving my car about a month ago. I have seen some water around the frunk (which is normal), but not inside. I have driven the car while raining and hand washed it while intentionally aiming the water towards different parts of the hood. However, I have not driven it while snowing (not likely to happen where I live). I cannot comment on automatic car washing as I don’t like to take my cars through that punishment. I am a “two bucket” guy! 😂
If I would notice something like you have, I would be worried about not having a good seal between the frunk and the hood…

That can't be normal! I have never used my frunk yet but I will check it out next time it rains or snows. Considering the issues I have been having, this is further proof this car hasn't been tested in rain or snow.

my first thought is, are you sure the hood was down/latched during that drive?
Snow around the outside (outside of the rubber seals) isprobably normal...but there definitely shouldn't be anything inside the frunk itself where the seals are.
would make sure your hood is closing as low as it should...and making contact with the seals.

Agree, I had the same thoughts

I have never used my frunk yet
I find frunk quite useful, actually.
I notice that if I buy hot take-away food and need to put it in the car, then keeping it in the frunk is better than boot/trunk. Putting it in the boot, the smell goes everywhere in the car, but not so when storing in the frunk. A good tip.
Also, I keep Porsche provided AC cable there.

I agree. I bought the rigid plastic, custom made, frunk liner from Porsche for protection. And often use the frunk for my groceries (when not buying a lot) or for small packages. Very useful in my opinion.

Unlikely I drove for this long without the frunk been closed properly, wouldn’t the car alert me to that anyway? And just now I took it through a touchless car wash after ensuring the frunk was shut correctly, and here are photos of water that got inside.

Water in the area around the rubber that seals the frunk is normal, is designed that way and it will drain or dry out. Water inside the carpeted frunk is not supposed to happen with the hood closed.

That's definitely a good use case for the frunk! I was told by the technician (on delivery) that the frunk should be closed by pressing down on the Porsche logo and not anywhere else or it would warp the hood. That kind of made me a bit paranoid to use it frequently. I will make sure it does not leak before putting my backpack that holds my work laptop.

I never had any water in the frunk, having had jet-sprayed hand washed a few times.
And yes, I always press Porsche logo to close.

Every salesperson seems to be educated to use the badge to close the frunk, but that advice is a bit controversial. Some of the 911's with aluminum hoods, eventually, sustained damage where the badge was indented a couple of millimeters.

I use two hand across the front edge of the frunk to close because the material is thinker along edge and the force is distributed across a larger area. Most will never have issues, regardless of their technique.

May I ask what the green button is? I have seen dozens of images of the frunk on other Macans and none of them have that piece

I believe it is a frunk release button which is required in case a very small child is trapped inside the compartment (see https://www.federalregister.gov/doc...hicle-safety-standards-interior-trunk-release). Should be careful not to have moving packages accidentally press it while driving.
Per Owner’s Manual (see attached image):
