After 6 months of ownership my Turbo is booked in with the dealer to have the April software update installed. I've mentioned to them that the speed sign recognition has never worked effectively (or safely) since having the car so I've had to turn the function off after the last time I tried it the car abruptly changed from 70mph to 5 mph when it incorrectly read a 50mph sign. Thankfully nothing fast or heavy was behind me and I could quickly take over driving. I know it was an issue regularly talked about in the forum towards the end of 24/early 25, particularly for UK drivers. Is anyone still having the same issue, or had theirs fixed either physically or via software? My dealer claims to have had no other Macan with Innodrive customers with the same issue, but that could just be due to lack of cars of that spec being sold.

My Macan 4 delivered 3 weeks ago and with the latest software (so the dealer says) does this too. Extremely dangerous. My dealer also saying no had anyone else reporting this. At least auto speed adjustment stays off when you disable it. Will be raising again with the dealer soon.

Well you definitely aren't the only person with the issue. I'll report back what my dealer says - I'm booked in for 5th June

This was one problem my 4 with Innodrive did not have until it was in at dealer last month and got full software update. Now periodically reads 30mph signs a 80mph!

Going back in next week to have both pulse inverters replaced, so will raise then.

Here in the US the speed limit recognition works very well for me. I have the car configured to ignore the speed limits, but they do show next to the current speed, and it’s spot-on. Both on the highway and in town, the car recognizes speed limits, school zones, and No Passing zones.

It seems to be a problem with the UK maps. I’m in the UK and use Innodrive all the time with the auto speed off and generally it’s ok in my case. I have the audio warning turned off using the diamond not least because it sounds at 60 mph on the odd dual carriageway which should be 70 mph.

I will turn off the corner reduction in speed, as today it slowed to about 20 mph from the 40 mph set.

This is quite "normal" and is the same across the Porsche range and other brands.

Far from ideal but avoid any function which controls the speed based on this feature.

Issue is down to poor mapping and signage rather than an issue with the car.

My 911 behaves the same as did either of my Taycans.

Issue prevails with or without InnoDrive.

Disable the feature and watch the speed recognition indicate the incorrect speeds in various scenarios.

Same issue here, even though I don't have InnoDrive.
So I turned auto speed off, and now manually change speed as necessary. Works much better that way.

The later is what I’ve had to do. If I had known that about Porsches in general, I wouldn’t have bothered with Enno drive as it’s quite an expensive feature not to ever work. Thanks for the update on your experience..

Interestingly, I have road topography turned on for cruise control from and yet it’s never actually slowed me down for anything. My previous car was a Launch Edition e-tron Sportback and that had topography controls even when you didn’t have cruise control on, which I absolutely loved. It would slow you down for approaching roundabouts and junctions without you having to do anything, which was integrated into the regen too.

In Canada, unfortunately active lane keep is only available with the innodrive option. So I would probably still option it.

In the US, you get adaptive cruise (and lane keeping) only by checking the innodrive box.

I also don't use that feature but have not noticed road sign reading errors (not to be confused with the speed limit indication derived from GPS and maps).

Had the same issue since new. Paid for innovative but can’t use with speed limits active as have the same problems as with the speed limiter. Random braking based on incorrect sign reading or map data. Again a UK car, originally put down to issue with the map data, kph v mph, and an update improved it slightly.

It fails to recognise the speed more than any other car I have had. The worst issue is the national speed limit sign, which sometimes (more often than not) assumes a speed limit of either 60mph on a dual carriageway or, more worryingly, 30mph on a single carriageway.
I have learnt to ignore the beeps, which is only a safety measure anyway. I've had teh car since November 2024, and have the latest software (two weeks ago).

Regular problem for me in U.K. especially dual carriageways which the car seems to think are50mph. My Tesla works nera perfectly.
