So I was offered to jump from a Spring delivery to December for a Macan Turbo. I took the slot but thermally insulated glass is confirmed as not being available in the USA with no visibility on how long this will persist. The rear wiper is now also available in gloss black trim FWIW. I did not spec it yet but the removal of the privacy glass means it's more likely I will.

Not seeing the option for gloss black on the Turbo - is that on a specific Macan trim?

I was able to find it under "exterior." If you click rear wiper trim in high gloss black then you will be asked to add the rear wiper too. It looks pretty ugly in the simulator but I do live in Chicago so should probably add it....

Ah see it now - $240. Odd they would have rear wipers in two different sections.

Thank you!

Insulated / thermal glass is available for order (US) but will delay the delivery by about 4weeks. Ordered mine mid Oct with delivery for end of February.

So it is available again? I haven't been able to put in my order due to the stop sale on it, according to my SA. I don't care about the delay, just want to be able to put in the build order.

Clarification on the insulated/thermal glass.
My understanding is that it's a part shortage and not a stop sale. Porsche has allocated a certain amount to various build dates.

My car was just built and did get the insulated glass, as my order was placed early enough to secure one of the allocations. There was not a blanket stop sale.

The only way to know if it will be available for your build slot is to have your SA submit the build. If it's accepted into the system, you've secured an allocation of insulated glass. If you remove it from your build, that allocation will reenter the pool. If no allocation is available, the system will reject the build and kick it back to your SA.

Can you have a thermally and noise insulated glass and privacy glass together as options in the US?

Insulated glass has the same level of tint as privacy glass on the rear windows.
Thank you. My Macan EV is scheduled for delivery at the end of February and I have until the end of the month to make any changes to the configuration. I ordered the thermal/noise insulated glass but also like having the dark tint on the rear windows. Now I only have to worry about whether I made the right choice by ordering 22” wheels! Lol

Well my 4S starts production (V260) this coming week Nov 6 and I have the insulated glass so they are building but I know there is a delay if you spec it. It is just not clear how long the delay really is because the build situations are fluid. When I was originally told there was a delay the car we not going to start production until January. So somewhere along the way that changed. I had changed my spec to not include it but got a message the next day that the order had been frozen which was fine. I only cancelled it to move it along. Not sure according to many reports here that it is necessary at all. I test drove some 4's that seemed fine to me. I tested one that had 22's so I did order those too. If it it too loud I will turn up the music!

If you normally drive other cars in SPORT or SPORT+ mode or mostly on smooth roadways, you will be fine. Rough roads or old concrete roads (even ones paved over with asphalt) may drive you nuts. 22” wheels on the Macan Electric is like SPORT mode when in NORMAL mode.

Our 2024 Turbo with 22” design wheels is 44 psi all around with just the driver and 48 psi all around at full load - they are not soft.

Unfortunately my build in the US locked before I had the chance to re spec it and my SA tried a few times without success. I am not too upset. I have it on my Cayenne and it truthfully makes almost no difference compared to my other vehicles, so I erred on the side of getting it build and delivered to the US before any potential tariffs might hit in the Spring.
