I did see your guidance. It did not help me. You posted to move the mirror down and save the setting. On my vehicle, with the mirror moved fully outward, as I have it set for driving, I wasn’t able to tilt it down at all (go ahead, try it). I then realized it would tilt down if I first moved it inward. I then saved the setting and it works fine. I’m not sure what is extreme about that, and it certainly was necessary to get it operational.

i might have been too detailed in the description, but I was just trying to be clear.
The issue seems to be that many cars are delivered with the mirror set in a total crazy position from the get go.

From your regular passenger mirror setting, the power on, R drive mode, adjust all the way to what you need, save to key should just work.

I've done this procedure for many Porsches since 2006 and they all work in the same way.

Odd to find one that doesn't.

Either way you have found a method.

The passenger mirror tilts down in reverse and is programmed by first selecting R and then adjusting for the tilted position that is saved for next time.

When you reverse there are several situations: back to an obstacle e.g., a garage door or back next to the curb e.g. to avoid curbing a wheel.

Both cases are different because only one requires the manipulation downwards. Do you control this by selecting the buttons that select the left/right mirror as a shift/don’t shift down?

Yes I also got it working after a bit of tinkering!
Two observations regarding the door mirrors....
1) It looks like dipping only occurs on the passenger mirror, I.e. not the drivers mirror. This does seem strange to me.

2) Are the mirrors heated? Doesn't seem to have a heat on/off button or option in set up. If not then this too is very strange, especially on a "premium" vehicle. 🤔

Only intended to be the kerbside (passenger) on RHD or LHD vehicles - same for all Porsches (and many other brands). Technically both could but I guess it's a deliberate act to not dip the driver's due to the likelihood of approaching traffic in most situations.

Mirrors are heated - only when you turn on the rear demister (no separate button for the mirrors).

Thanks. I'll give it a go.

The Manual does describes the setting of the Passenger Mirror when R (reverse) is selected.

However, the Manual could have explicitly said that there are three saved positions that can be recalled.

So that when reversing, you can switch between normal and dipped using the two buttons. A “hidden” benefit for those not already familiar with its uses.

There are cars. This is a thing on Honda and Acura cars. 2008 Acura TSX came with dedicated heated mirror button. Porsche does not have a dedicated button as it is tied to the Rear Defroster button as @Go4it mentioned, and always has been that way.

Acura Heated Mirror button.
