Was just told the thermal / noise insulated glass is no longer available

Has anyone tested both with and without to see how much noise is reduced from it?

If you're concerned about noise, get 20" wheels and you'll be fine.

With or without insulated glass the 21s and 22s will result in a noisier cabin.

Yeah I have the 20", was hoping to also get the laminated glass but now that they aren't available just wondering if I'm missing out.

Indeed, the delay is very long for this. I wanted to add, but delay was long, no production this year.

I recently test drove a Macan 4 with 21” wheels and no sound-insulated glass, and it was impressively quiet. Mine has 20” wheels and the sound insulation, but I'm on upgrade software adventure waiting for it.

With 20", not really. The glass helps the most with larger tires and/or if you spec burmeister.

It's going to be a very quiet car for you on 20s.

I took delivery of my Macan 4 a few days ago (Canada). I was lucky enough to have thermal insulated glass installed. For those that are able to get it, I do think it’s a great option to have. In my wife’s Q8, it makes a remarkable difference in road noise. Without any music on, the only things I can hear in the cabin of my Macan EV are the air pockets of the massaging seats and quiet hum of the HVAC, it's quite remarkable. That being said it's an inherently quiet car as is..!

Just curious, what size wheels do you have? Hoping you're going to say 22s...

I took delivery of mine with the thermal / insulated windows and 22” RS two weeks ago. I test drove a launch vehical with 22” wheels but regular windows too.

My quick take:

It’s definitely quieter and the quietest car I’ve ever owned. I don’t know that is was that much better than the regular to warrant the cost though. Maybe? I was very excited to drive both and was more focused on the fun factor over road noise when test driving.

That said, I’m in Texas and the sun here is intense. The thermal benefit is hands down worth it. That’s even with some minor cell reception issues from time to time when I’m on backroads.

+1 for the insulated and thermal glasses: very quiet (at the moment we are in the low temp season but I’m sure they will help during summer.
something I have to investigate deeper is the roof window glasses. I don’t think they are “stratified or layered glasses”: in tunnels all the noise come from there (and was the same with my Tesla with only the front seats double glasses).
