Although I personally wouldn't order a few items on your list and have minor disagreement on a couple of nice-to-have vs must have and vice versa, I basically agree with your take on everything shown depending on the personal needs/wants of the buyer.

I will mention just a couple of things. Unless things have changed with the design of the heated front window, I've read that the tiny wires in the windscreen are visible and can be annoying in some situations. I suppose if one lived where windows iced over regularly it could be a desirable option and worth any potential downside.

Also, although it's true that 21" wheels will impact range, if one orders 20's instead of no cost 21's (on the Turbo) you also get narrower wheels and tires; 7.5F/10R vs 8.5F/10.5R and 235/55F 285/45R vs 245/45F 295/40R. I'd choose the beefier rubber even though range is impacted. The 21's on my Taycan have not caused any concerns in that area. Just my $.02.
No heating element visible in ICE Macan - different tech to Ford / Volvo - rather there is a film in the glass which heats. My wife has it on her car.

AFAIK there is a kind of foil inside the front window (e.g. our 12/23 Cayenne has this feature) and no more "wires".
Just my 0,,02 €: With preheating in EVs i can not see the sense...
Uses less energy than preheat which as we know saps the battery.

Has anyone been able to verify if Surround View 360 is included with the 4S. I have not gotten an answer from my SA but thought I would ask again if anyone has any new information. Thanks I do not lock until the end of Sept so I have some time to figure it out.
Click the standard spec sheet button on the configurator to see what you get.

Next, If 360 not listed as an option in the configurator then its standard. NA region typically gets packs - premium and tech as options one of which will contain the 360 option.

Can't have noise insulating glass if you tick the wiper option (unless this is a bug in the configurator).
Not a bug. The sound and thermal glass is actually thinner, lighter, and stronger than standard glass - the multiple layers of plastic in the middle make it so. The wiper mounting probably needs the thicker standard glass, but that is just conjecture.

Thanks for the clarification on the wires. The other issue that I've read about is that the heated windscreen can degrade the performance of a radar detector, which seems to make sense if there is a foil material present in the glass. Apparently, there is a small opening near the mirror though which a detector can "see", but it is difficult to position a detector so that it works well. Or so I've read; no personal experience with this.

Another essential is side airbags in rears - ÂŁ315 should really be standard on all models but would hate to think something happened didn't tick the box.

My SA finally got the answer on the Surround. Here is his answer. Surround View with Active Parking Support is standard on the 4S and Turbo.
Hopefully that settles it.

So it may do that as it looks like the noise insulating glass (which we don't have). Not noticed any interference issues at all but aware that insulated glass can be problematic for toll readers and cellular connections.

Odd - I checked the NA configurator (and standard spec sheet) yesterday and the standard spec doesn't include this on either car. You must option the Premium Pack to get this and other tech. Personally, I would check again and suspect the Premium Pack is built into your offer to make it appear "standard".

In the US, the Premium package includes:

Turbo
- Ventilated Seats (Front)
- Heated Seats (Rear)
- Advanced 4-Zone Climate Control

4S / 4
- Power Seats (14-way) with Comfort Memory
- BOSE® Surround Sound System
- LED-Matrix Design Headlights
- Ventilated Seats (Front)
- Heated Seats (Rear)
- Advanced 4-Zone Climate Control

Surround View with Active Parking Support is an option that can be selected only on the 4, it isn’t available nor listed as standard for the 4S and Turbo.

But it has been confirmed by several reps it is standard on the Turbo even though not showing on the config (and seemingly same on 4S).

Could you please confirm which configurator you were looking at?

I went specifically to Porsche North America (not Canada) and went through the process of configuring. Pretty clear to me that what I've said above is correct - part of Premium at additional cost. It could be semantics in that certain packs are always included for your region and built into the pricing structure to appear as if standard.

We don't get 'packages' in UK as a rule and so each item has to be selected if not standard. US market has always had packages but I assume optional and less granular.

I agree it is odd and that is why I had my SA pursue an answer. Now he could be wrong. He took a week to get the answer and said his boss spoke to someone above him in Porsche corporate and he felt that was the answer. Now of course it all feels up in the air. I will continue to work on the answer. Thanks for the input.

Not calling you liar, simply unable to see what you’re referring to.

Could you pense confirm the URL?
I’m not seeing a configurator for NA, only country specific ones like https://configurator.porsche.com/en-US/model/XABFD1/ for the US.

The US one does not reflect your point - and I’m sure the US is wrong,

So your build has the Premium Pack selected (I just checked) - $3,910.

It can be deselected which actually will increase your price by $760 if you add the options individually (don't worry - I haven't altered anything).

Here is the link to your standard specification before any options / packages are added - https://configurator.porsche.com/en...7.VC2.VF1.VL0.VR0.VT9.VW6.Z1C&variants=APM_G1
