My car prior to the iX was the Jaguar i-Pace. Really loved how that car handled. But it had this problem where for a lot of people, after a while it would basically put itself into Park (while driving) and couldn't get out of it. Turns out they didn't put enough slack into one of the cables that went to the pall lock actuator, and the torque of the motor under heavy acceleration caused the wires to rip out of the connector. They issued a TSB (not a recall), so if it happened the dealerships would know how to repair it, but no warranty extension. The repair required dismantling the entire front end. So basically they incentivized do acceleration runs from a stop so it would break under warranty.

The iX is the single worst electric car Iā€™ve ever had. Literally stopped (completely black screens) in the middle of the highway. Took BMW weeks to tell us they couldnā€™t replicate the problem. Fast forward several attorney letters later and they bought back the car. Canā€™t wait for my Macan Turbo.
You are one of the few šŸ˜‰. look every brand has itā€™s lemonā€™s ā€¦

Guys - whoever is claiming worse consumption than iX - give it some time for the car to break in. My efficiency is improving weekly, even the temperatures going down in Europe now with winter arriving. Iā€™m easily averaging 19-20kwh/100km for morning / evening drives to/ from office which is 12km highway and 6km city. So relatively short drive (which doesnā€™t contribute to efficiency). I didnā€™t own an iX but I have an i4 M50 and used to own an iX3, and whilst both might be slightly more efficient at low speeds, they arenā€™t as efficient at higher speeds

ps this is on Macan4 with 20ā€ aero wheels, so outside of RWD model one of the most efficient makes out there

Our iX M60 is very range efficient, couple of times just over 350 miles. It is well engineered and extremely comfortable. It has lots of room. It is an excellent vehicle for many!

Still, my wife and are looking forward to the end of its lease when we will get a Porsche EV next for the latterā€™s much better driving dynamics, better steering, smoother ride as it transitions over road imperfections, not having an iPad-like screen, e.g., overall being an exciting Porsche sports vehicle.

To each their own.

Hmm my iX50 is a smoother ride on 22 inch then my Porsche on 20 inch ā€¦ The Porsche is way more sporty in every mode, I would call it more firm more direct. On bad pavement itā€™s a bit too much. Iā€™ve drive the iXM60 once and it lands in between if I remember correctly. In any case they drive both the German way šŸ˜‰ For long road trips we will take the iX, way more relaxing/space.
