2025 Macan 4S EV (on order)

Several years ago I took delivery of the first Taycan in Kansas City, MO. I always lease my cars and planned a 2.5 year lease.

After about 2 years, I traded it in early on an Audi eTron. The Taycan had way too many electronic issues that to me were beyond simple nuisance...phone wouldn't connect regularly, screens lost touch randomly, screens went black, odd error messages. The car was stunning...everyone wanted to look at it...and it was a blast from 0-60...but it wasn't reliable.

The eTron has been flawless. Range is bad and I knew that going in (I drive about 4,000 miles a year) but everything works all the time.

Well, i'm 18 days away from delivery of a Dolomite Silver 4S with Truffle Brown Club Leather...every detail spec'd just as I wanted it. And after spending time on this forum i'm really wondering if this is going to be a Taycan v2.0 situation.

Maybe it's just a fear I'm having but I'm certainly reading about more issues with the Macan EV than love for the Macan EV. Am i wrong? Any difference about what's happening 2024 vs 2025? What about US vs International deliveries?

I am having the exact same concerns. I have an ice grey turbo build and on its way and am starting to reconsider. That poll has just 54% completely satisfied with their Macan. I would be trading a 2022 X5 hybrid with only 10K miles on it that has been problem free.

Sadly any new model will have issues and those people taking delivery over the first 2-3 months will likely experience more than someone who gets one a few months later after all the problems have been ironed out. A lot more tech on cars these days and a lot more to go wrong.

We are part of a beta test cycle that’s for sure, if you do not have a backup vehicle 🤷‍♂️

You make it sound like we should pity you for being able to afford/drive such beautiful vehicles :)
Maybe a short reality check for you and the thread starter wouldn't hurt. You don't seem to have real problems if you are worried about swapping out insanely expensive vehicles.
Just don't then. Nobody is forcing you to buy new cars every two years, isn't there?

We don't need the replies with bad attitude. It's a legitimate question and concern. The electric Macan launch has had a number of issues and it's totally fair for people to reconsider buying one right now because of it.

If I was in a car I liked, was trouble free, and I wasn't super excited about the electric Macan I'd probably wait while Porsche works out the kinks.

i think being on a forum skews the view of the car. a fraction of the owners are in this forum. and more often than not, the few ppl with issues are the ones active.
i tend to believe there's way more ppl out there without issues, enjoying their cars, than those with issues in here

Legitimate concern, I agree. The problems are to be expected even though I think Porsche should have done a better job with some of the issues that we are seeing. Specifically, only a few owners reporting major ones (smoke from vents and random error messages) with having their cars taken away for diagnosis, however, the rest are to be resolved in due time including my dealer reporting Plug & Charge does not work, Adaptive Speed Limits error, and not having full 11kW AC charging.

You have been a Taycan owner and gave up on it given major issues at scale that are still ongoing so in comparison to that Macan EV looks solid at this point in time.

The new model Audi with most of the same tech was my other option but I decided on the Macan.
