I agree, based on what we know, 300 miles is not going to happen. Then the pole at least will tell us what is realistic in different use cases so any potential buyers can take that into consideration.
So your poll will need to include at least 6 dimensions:
- range achieved (bracket with at least 5 options)
- size of the wheels (3 options)
- temperature (bracket with at least 5 options)
- driving style (Iā€™d say 3 options but this one will be tricky)
- highway vs city
- speed (brackets with at least 4 options)

This poll will have hundreds of options. šŸ˜¬

Thereā€™s also already a topic where people started to report their range and all the conditions above but a) the thread never took off and b) the actual ranges that can be achieved are already known.

But Iā€™m sure we can beat this dead horse a little more. šŸ˜…

Since it is a country with four distinct seasons, we assume that there is a significant difference in temperature and then conduct an extreme test. (Run the cooler and heater at full capacity) So the distance is shorter than the US EPA. I wrote it down to show how cold and hot it is in the spring and fall that I mentioned.

So the numbers above are based on using the AC at max level for one, and the heater at max level for the other?

Hahaha I know it will not happen for me, given the way I drive my GTS. I am very happy that my range in the 4S will actually be greater than my ICE GTS !! Isnā€™t it a win to celebrate? With my full tank of petrol, my ICE GTS reports 430km range. That is 267mi.

I know this but I also have a Taycan that gives mileage close to the one that was used for marketing. Macan Turbo EV gets nowhere near.

Now Iā€™m driving it, I also find that the even the remaining range shown canā€™t be relied on very well, whereas it can be on my Taycan.

(Iā€™m aware evrything depends on outside temperature, speed of travel, driving smoothly, etc.. All of those things apply to my Taycan but all range comparable are much better in a 2020 car).
Your Macan is new and so the BMS (Battery Management System) is still 'learning". Give it more time and it should improve but as its the winter now it won't be spectacular until it warms up in summer.

Of more interest is your consumption - Taycan and Macan - rather than the range - out of interest what are they?

I will revert with the Taycan Turbo.

To date, the Macan Turbo has this over 216 miles, it may have been stationary whilst waiting for a small part of this:

Taycan Turbo 2020since I owned it. Obviously a much larger sample size.

As far as I know, yes.
Got itā€¦ but thatā€™s not real world data then, outside temperatures have a huge impact on the battery.

Just blowing cold/hot air in the cabin doesnā€™t provide Summer/Winter ranges. šŸ™ƒ

i've been loaned a Macan EV Turbo on 20" wheels whilst my Taycan is in the shop for two recalls

I fully charged it last night and was showing 260 miles this morning - this was very disappointing, though it is a demo car so perforamnce features will have been fully explored by previous drivers (it's also only got 1k miles on the clock).

Did my normal commute into Bristol - country roads, motorway, city - and the efficieny isn't much difference to my Taycan Turbo.
Outside temp was 4.5 and whilst guessometer started at 260, it ended at 255 after a 35 mile commute.
Not too bad all in all

So the Total Trip is a good average (not since charging) but this helps for now. Your consumption is high but the ambient is probably low (winter). The numbers you are seeing are actually below what I'm getting on my J1.1 GTS ST (MY23) which now has 9.3K miles on it and has averaged 2.7 mi/kWh over the period. This time of year I'd get 2.5 mi/kWh on a trip from Aberdeen to Edinburgh.

To get anywhere near the WLTP figures (around 300 miles) a not insignificant miracle would be required on your Macan EV. If you have 21" or bigger wheels then that's not helpful either.

Alas the data I'm seeing backs up my hunch before these cars hit the roads that even with a larger useable battery the extra range of the Macan EV / Taycan J1.2 is at best 30% and mainly because of, yes you've guessed it, a bigger usable battery.
