My Porsche app would not connect to the car...never has. But my phone did and Apple Car Play worked just fine. Hence Plug and Charge was not active. But I'm charging at home so I'll deal with that later...so yesterday is later. Car Play just stopped working. Phone showed still connected. After poking around with settings for a bit, I did the reset to factory settings and went about the process of setting up the car again. Not so bad now that I know the car better (1,400 mi).

Connected to my account, added my phone...but it wouldn't connect. So I'm thinking maybe the phone was behind issue...so rebooted the phone, then it connected fine. Signed into My Porsche app now and bingo, its connected;) Then I checked on Plug and Charge and it wasn't, but it asked to install the certificate, which took a while but finally loaded into the car. So I'm glad I went through the hassle got it running. There is hope.

The dealership here in NJ has been great. They opened a ticket with Porsche and are taking the car into the shop to figure out the plug and charge. Hopefully it’s an easy fix as the multiple reboots weren’t working. Interestingly I’m seeing elsewhere that people have to have their computer swapped out for other reasons. The growing pains of a first year model.

I just got a message from my dealership that they fixed my Plug and Charge issues. I don't know what they did, but whatever it was - it took 3 days.

From my experience, there were multiple problems in the process. The Plug & Charge problem required the factory reset for my car. And then there were problems getting the certificate into the car. And then there were problems configuring the certificate to be the default certificate for the EA / Plug & Charge account. Each one required a combination of waiting, user interface deciphering, And Porsche intervention.

It would not surprise me if a single human being in Germany was literally setting up every Porsche for Plug & Charge by hand.

Well my Plug and Charge is now fixed.

In addition, I reset the PCM and I was able to get it to work following the instructions from the service ticket (but needed to drive around a bit for the toggle to become enabled).

Here is what was in the service ticket:

It will do it again...the tech had no idea what the problem is. The system software has just not been totally flushed out. I'd feel better when they will do OTA updates.
