Hey everyone,

I'm about to pull the trigger on my first Porsche - a Macan Electric through my company's salary sacrifice scheme here in the UK. Pretty excited about joining the Porsche family!

I've attached my configuration for your review. Here's a quick breakdown:

Base Configuration

https://porsche-code.com/PS1X69R9

  • Going with the base Macan Electric model
  • Aventurine Green Metallic paint
  • 21-inch Macan Offroad Design Wheels in Vesuvius Grey
  • Leather Interior in Black
  • Comfort Seats front (14-way, electric)
  • Panoramic roof
  • Sport Chrono Package
  • BOSE® Surround Sound System
  • Comfort Access keyless entry
  • Offroad Design package painted in exterior colour (Exclusive Manufaktur)

The Aventurine Green with the black wheels and black interior looks stunning in the configurator. I've gone with the deletion of model designation for a cleaner look and added the Sport Chrono Package for a bit more performance. The Offroad Design package gives it a more rugged appearance that complements the overall look.

Before I finalize - would you add or remove anything from this build? Any options I might regret not having? Or anything I've added that isn't worth the money?

Thanks in advance!

I would add heated seats unless there is a reason you left them out.

If you drive in the city often you may want to consider rear steering.

Stainless pedals are a cheap add.

Front heated seats are standard in UK config.
And I confirm this as I have this in the base model too.

Sport Chrono does not give you more performance, it just adds another drive mode.
I think its a great addition to the interior and makes up a Porsche - but do not get it for performance. I would get air suspension over sport chrono any day though.

Rear wheel steering is also great, so is the HUD and the upgraded lights.
If you want to save money, the porsche logo in front seats is a minor detail you wont notice much in practice.
Bose is not bad but I would probably not pick it over the other more expensive options I mentioned above (and you gain some trunk space).

The configurator is very confusing about seat heating. Front seat heating is definitely standard, the options just adds rear seat heating. I'd only get that if you regularly have passengers on the rear (without child seats).

There is no point in adding Sports Chrono - it does not add additional performance. It adds an additional drive mode 'Sport Plus' which I'm guessing you won't use as it will be pretty firm on UK roads. In fact, without some of the other options it will do very little - damper, suspension settings etc - and you'll end up with a clock on the dash to compliment the other two (digital) that will already be present.

Launch mode is available on any model when in Sport Drive mode and is not dependent on Sports Chrono.

At a minimum you should add PASM (adaptive dampers) if the budget won't stretch to air suspension (which includes PASM).

So unless you add PASM (at a minimum) Sports Chrono is somewhat a waste of money. Adding PASM on its own would be a better option IMHO.

Choice of 21" wheels are not the best for range.

Nice colour for sure.

Base model is RWD - I'm assuming you realise that?

Personally I would skip Off Road Design Package.

A lesser specced Macan 4 might be a better choice.

Spec is budget constrained so no point suggesting expensive options such as HUD, RAS, Air etc (sorry).

@W1NGE I assumed so. But that's why I suggested replacing Bose/Sport Chrono with one of the other options. I am aware that he can not afford ALL of them at the same time but at least consider them.
I am just saying that I would use a limited budged towards other options than Bose and Chrono - but that is of course totally subjective.

Personally I don't fully bite the offroad look but as that's even more subjective I won't even suggest removing that. When constrained I personally favor tech features over looks but to each their own.

In my opinion, you should choose the options that make this car what it is: Chassis (air suspension), steering (rear axle) and HUD. everything else, such as rims, leather, chrono, sound system is secondary.

I absolutely love the Innodrive, HUD and rear steering

better (much better) a 4S with all the necessary technical equipment (innodrive, rear axle steering, HUD, matrix, air suspension) than a turbo without. plus there is still saved money for fancy stuff

I agree completely. I’m very happy to have them on my 4. I think that most of the experience of a car is from the inside, so it’s best to spend the money on handling and the look and feel of the car when you’re in it. So I spent nothing on the outside (i have the standard wheels which are fine). I’m also happy with the base audio system. I opted for the Truffle brown leather which is fantastic with the aventurine green outside. I also recommend the air suspension.

Agree on the wheels and the audio, it's more about inside.
Same experience. Standard wheels are chunky enough, to my eyes. Even the crest on the wheels, I didn't get the coloured option.

The only other thing I wish I had that I didn't was the full leather, instead of the partial.
