Not had that specific issue for ages, but what does happen is that some conditions cause the WiFi hotspot service of the Macan gets turned off, simply tuning it back on allows CarPlay to connect. Often it will prompt to turn it back on by itself. I notice this occurs if the car has not been driven for a while, but even then it's not 100% consistent.
Mine just stopped working overnight. It asks me if I want to restart the hotspot but it fails and I can’t connect. It doesn’t even work with the phone plugged in. Music and phone calls do work over Bluetooth I presume.

Ah, that is a weak password in your Macan hotspot, make the hotspot password more complex and you'll be all good I think.

Thanks. Just tried. It says password is now strong. Disconnected and reconnected device but CarPlay not available wirelessly or wired. I’m going to try disconnecting the battery in the morning.

have you rebooted the PCM by holding down the scroll button for > 30 seconds untilt he screen reboots? I've not found anything that doesn't fix that the 12V will fix.

Hi - thanks for all the suggestions so far.
I still can’t connect any iPhones via CarPlay. So far I’ve tried:

- changing the hotspot password so it declares it as Strong
- deleting and readding the phones
- rebooting the PCM by holding down the button for 30s
- disconnecting and reconnecting the 12v battery

Music and phone will connect via Bluetooth. Does anyone have any further suggestions please?

Have you done a hard reset of your iPhone (quickly pressing volume up then volume down and then holding the side button until the screen turns black)?

Thank you. That worked. However I think the solution may have been cumulative and required one of the previous steps too. Thoughts?

Whenever my phone has failed to connect it has been either: I switched off wifi on the phone/went into airplane mode and forgot to reenable comms; or my phone had otherwise decided not to communicate - a phone reboot did the trick.

I’ve found this version of the PCM far more reliable than in my old 992. YMMV, anecdotes aren’t data, etc etc etc.

My wife’s Macan dropped the phone from the hotspot (or vice versa). I went to troubleshoot. My phone connects seamlessly. So it is not the Macan. My wife has an older iPhone 15, and I have a 17 Pro. I asked AI, and it steered me to toggling airplane mode, restarting, etc. AI also indicated that older phones are more temperamental. Maybe. If It happens frequently, I’m going to insist she upgrade the phone. Try consulting AI. YMMV.

I spoke too soon. Got this one today. Dealer claimed they haven’t seen that before and would like the car back to investigate. What’s the bet it will be gone next time I go out? I’m not enjoying this new software update.

Just noticing this thread, but I have had the same faults as you, from the very beginning. Each time they download the error messages, they say they're inactive. And each time it's over 100 errors. In November of last year, they were hoping the software update would fix all my gremlins, but instead they broke my at home AC charging. I'm glad that after 4 months, they "finally" fixed my at home AC charging with a downgrade of the software (god why didn't they think of that earlier?!). I've had issues with CarPlay not connecting, sometimes for days as well. Dealer's adviser made a comment about how I'm more sensitive to these errors, some people don't care about them as much. I was floored by her comment. This high voltage system fault should worry most drivers I would think. Why would anyone ignore it? I've even had a red critical one pop up as I was backing up into a parking spot, but I couldn't get my phone quick enough to take a photo of it before it disappeared. Anyway, Porsche is losing a lot of owner's faith in their cars due to their software issues. I hope they get their acts together and start catching up.

FWIW I think I may be joining the ā€œsome people don’t care as muchā€ club. I had one of these errors the other day and simply stopped, switched the car off and on to make it go away and carried on. Maybe it’s the quality of the drive that keeps me going! The errors are fewer and farther between than they were before I had the latest SW upgrade. Sounds ridiculous when I write it down, I know, but none of these problems have actually stopped me from being able to use the car (yet).

i've been a Porsche victim now since my first 2008 911 4S - I've learned it's not a real fault unless it persist's for a few restarts/days…

unless it's a serious fault that is clearing impacting the vechicle's operational status - I ignore "warnings" unless they persist…

most of the time they go away and I simply note them for the next normal service…

Oh my...what happens if by ignoring these errors something does happen mid drive, on a highway or somewhere difficult to pull over? I had a friend who owned a Taycan, and his car died in the middle of the highway. Battery literally died on him and the car shut down. Porsche has trained you well šŸ˜‚
