2024 Porsche Macan EV Goes an Impressive 352 Miles on the Edmunds EV Range Test

Our long-term Porsche Macan 4 Electric beat its EPA-estimated range by 44 miles

On our official, standardized range test, our long-term Porsche Macan 4 EV traveled 342 miles — OK, 341.7 miles — with 10 miles of indicated range to spare. That puts the Macan 4's final result at a comfortable 352 miles, or 44 miles higher than the EPA's expected 308-mile range. That's a 14.3% improvement.

Similarly, we observed lower overall energy consumption compared to the EPA's expectations. The Macan 4 Electric is estimated to consume 34 kWh per 100 miles, but our final figure was 29 kWh per 100 miles.

Note their range test is a pretty useless variety. Average speed of 40 doesn't help you determine max highway range and range around town is irrelevant.

They've always sucked at testing EV range. Shrug.

Still, fine result on 21s but would probably equate closer to 310 highway, or lower.

Not that simple unfortunately. Yes stop go town driving uses less than high speed on runs. However short journeys from cold crucify range as battery never warms up. Good example in my Polestar I can easily get 240 miles on a long run on motorway at constant 75 mph. We aren’t limited to 60. Whereas when I am staying at home and doing 3 mile trips to shops and back it can be well under 200 and even less if I want to beat Teslas from lights. Probably maximum range is a steady 40 mph for several hours but how boring! What does a surprise newbies is if you are stationary in traffic ( all too frequent in UK) you use virtually nothing unlike an ice.
