Important FREE Software Update for Your Porsche Macan Electric – WSJ0 Campaign
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) has new software for your vehicle. This new update can be done at your local Porsche Center.

A series of updates to various control units are available for your vehicle, which brings the look, feel, and software of your Model Year 2024 or 2025 vehicle in line with current 2026 models.
What will Porsche Do?
Your Porsche Center will update the software on your vehicle, which will take about a day to perform. This will be done at NO COST TO YOU.
What should you do?
Please contact any authorized Porsche Center to schedule an appointment to have this update performed as soon as possible.

Got the same email, would be nice if the software was more stable after this, preferable to adding more features.

The WSJ0 campaign is for installing the v28.13 software, which there are a couple of threads about.
Ok good I was wondering if it was for that. I just got the email now. Will be holding off...

This has nothing to do with the Software that the MY2026 has. This is presumably the final update for the older model years making it somewhat stable.
Porsche abandoned MY24 and MY25, only MY26 will be getting the new software

Is this official messaging from Porsche? “Look and feel” can only mean UI updates. If it actually refers to the already ongoing campaign, the communication is very incompetent.

I don’t want to be the party crasher but what is more likely?
Porsche knowing how to do Software and release a meaningful software update OR their communication department not knowing what they talk about.

WSJ0 is the old update from last year, this is nothing new. There are no UI changes and this is not the MY2026 update. Sorry.

Source please? I have found too many times on forums that people say things without a complete set of facts. I would like to read your source. Thanks.

I would think they would always want to keep at least 3-5 years of updates going so they avoid having every lease vehicle coming back, and then hard to turn around.

I think maybe people are reading that in a way other than you intended.

What I assume you meant is that the older cars won’t get some of the features that MY ‘26 has via software.

Or are you really saying that you don’t think MY24 or 25 Macans will ever get another update, at all, period (“abandoned”)? I am not sure anyone could know that - not even Porsche would know if they might need to react to a security issue or recall.

Well given we just got an update it’s way too early to declare anything abandoned.

Time will tell if I am right or wrong. The fact that we had only a single update in almost 1.5 years and not even OTA says a lot how Porsche deals with Software.
Porsche also showed with the Taycan how they abandon previous model years.

My source is people I spoke to that spoke to their sales advisors. They are saying the MY2026 Software will not be coming to the 2025 models as Porsche changed the underlying hardware.
They can of course be wrong, then we all get positively surprised. I am rather a pessimist here not to be too disappointed.

But this WSJ0 Update is definitely the ongoing „bigger“ update from last year. In Europe this has been rolling out for months, why would US customers get an update before Porsches Homeland?

I’ve never heard the underlying hardware changed.

I would not hold your breath for frequent OTA updates for MY2026 lol…the software is virtually identical to MY24/MY25.
