Thanks for this, didn't even know I had it.
Steps seem to be:
Drive slowly past a space.
Hit the park button.
Wait for the grey space.
Hit the start button and let go.

Does this only work for parallel park? - looks at it works for reversing into a space too.

Will it work in spaces with parking lines only and no cars parked yet?

mine works with parallel and reverse. actually i think it does not orient itself on parking lines, but the already parked cars at least if there are any. it tries to keep same distance to cars on both sides.

Okay, so I tried it a few more times and it found potential spaces only occasionally, about 10% of the time, bypassing many open spaces, and finding false spaces as well. ☹ The one time it did work (a reverse perpendicular space) it parked okay, going back and forth three times, slightly offset to one side of the space, but equally distanced from the two adjoining cars. It seems the parking algorithm uses exiting cars to navigate and park, and ignores the actual space markings. At least it did not hit anything. 😅

it would be good for you if you would read the postings of other people that try to help you. if you do not like the video tutorial i posted, may be this helps you:

I find, in reverse parking into a space, it's very slow as it takes far more time than parallel parking.
And often misses the space too.
In fact, in parallel parking, it's very quick. Much faster than I could do, especially in tight spaces.

I DID watch the video you posted (and thanked you for it) That's why I tired the parking process again.
its just that you complained that the car does not “find” spaces. you are not the only one to assume this. but you have to find the space and tell the car to use it. this make sense because of myriads of different parking regulations the car would need to be a lawyer to make this decision for you..

The car identifies suitable parking spaces, but you have to tell it to actually park there. And it considers anything big enough for the car to fit as suitable, regardless of the markings (if any). If the curb is painted red, it will still want to park there if the space is big enough.

Funnily enough we tried yet again to use it today to park in a multi-story car park as my husband wanted me to demonstrate it, even though I protested because every single time I've tried it it just ignores all of the spots. Again today it slowly sailed past at least 8 spots, before I turned it off and quickly did the job myself. Thankfully I am competent at reverse parking, although not so much at parallel parking as it's something I rarely have to do. It seems to be yet another paid for tech extra which doesn't work. This is my first Porsche and will most likely be my last, as the tech on my Audi e-tron was a joy to use and made driving really easy., where as the Macan either seems to ignore me (parking assist) or tries to kill me (traffic sign recognition for cruise control).

In my limited testing, I’ve found that using Active Parking Support in finding and parking a hit and miss experience, mostly a miss. So i went back to my dealer to see how to use this feature. Surprisingly, the SA admits that most of his customers don’t use it since it’s quite unreliable (i.e. have run into cars and things); he warns that i should be very cautious if i use this function. My dealership doesn’t allow its use in their own parking lot.

Has anyone found the Active Parking Support to be reliable and use it regularly?
this may be fixed when rear camera recall update is performed

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately, according to my advisor, my Macan EV is very new and it already came updated with this and other recalls.

So we’re not alone in this. Even my Porsche dealer tech doesn’t advise relying on it.

ok. i tried my successfully yesterday.
As others have noted, you turn on the parking and slowing drive past the spots. It indicates the spots it finds, and will park when you hit start.

the only caveat, is that it does NOT appear to see parking lines on the ground. So if they're open spaces, it will not identify them for parking.
It seems to only identify other cars.... So if you a car in spot 1, and spots 2, 3 & 4 are empty... the car will only identify spot 2 as available. It will be able to park there...HOWEVER
IT will NOT park lines for spot 2 ! It will simply just park next to the car leaving a enough space to open the doors..

So this describes exactly how it went for me. i was on the lines and crooked, but parallel to the car it identified...
So not completely uselss, albeit slow...I'll have to try parallel parking next time.

Still experimenting with Active Parking Support (three weeks of ownership)... limited success for perpendicular parking. Is there a trick to getting the car to back into a perpendicular space? Enjoying the car, a big upgrade coming from a tesla model s

It told me my street was too steep (gradual sloped condition) for it to work for a parallel parking space; in front of my two car garage door.

I don’t believe there is a way to get the car to reverse into a perpendicular parking spot, it supports nose-in only.
If you would have asked me this question without me knowing it wasn't supposed to work in reverse in a perpendicular spot, I would have told you the only time my car has ever been parked with automated parking, it was done in reverse in a perpendicular spot by the sales guy. I'm sure he demoed it to me. I'm cloudy on what happened in January.
