You were right...Porsche is buying the car back. Could not repair the problem.
congrats - mine so far has been really really good - I you like the Macan I'd suggest you consider another one - some cars are just "bad" and can't be fixed - but the next one will be great typically

bad cookie from the batch doesn't make the recipe bad - just get a new cookie.

There was no offer for a new one, only keep it as is plus $25,000 or buy back. They made me whole.
hmmmm so they bought it back via lemon law cuz they had the car for so long.

I am/was the proud owner of my new electric Macan. I used the “Build My Porsche” feature on the Porsche USA website at the time Porsche introduced the all new electric Macan. My “Build My Porsche” was exactly as I wanted. I finally took possession of Macan on October 14, 2024. You can only imagine my excitement the day that I drove it off the lot. I felt so proud to be a first time Porsche owner.

Sadly, I am deeply dissatisfied. As an ardent admirer of Porsche's esteemed legacy and engineering prowess, I had high expectations when I decided to invest in the new electric Macan. Unfortunately, my experience with the Macan has been far from satisfactory.

Firstly, I encountered significant issues with the car's Tire Pressure warning system. Every day we encountered various warnings that indicated each tire was low in varying degrees. The rear drivers side tire required daily visits to a tire store for air. All the while worried about tire pressure when I drove it. Mind you, I am still getting accustomed to all of the wonderful technology on this car.

I took the car into Porsche to see if they could reset the tire warning system and check out the driver’s side rear tire, since it was the one consistently low. Upon inspection they were able to reset the tire pressure warning system and said that the tire had no signs of a puncture and that perhaps the tire needed to be reseated and sealed. I made an appointment for service on January 31.

The car was brought in early that day. However, since making the service appointment, I had experienced a very frightening occurrence four days prior. While driving casually down the road, the car suddenly braked so hard that it was only my seat belt that held me in place. The first braking was followed by 2 more in quick succession just as a yellow message appeared that read “Car is Shutting down”. The car abruptly stopped, all within a matter of 5 seconds. Thankfully I was in an area where cars were able to go around. Sitting stunned, I turned everything off and sat there a minute to pull myself together. The experience was very frightening. I then tried to restart the car, which luckily started and was able to drive home.

With this new information, the service department ran diagnostics on the car. We left it there on Thursday and picked up on Saturday, February 1. The report from service said that there were a few faults that needed to be reset and that should take care of it. We were hopeful that this would take care of the problem.

The following week, Tuesday, February 4, the same thing happened again! If I had been on a Freeway going 65, the cars behind me would not have had enough time to avoid ramming into me resulting with probable serious injury or a fatality

On Wednesday, February 5, I called 1-800-PORSCHE to request road service and a flatbed tow truck to take the car to the service department. As of today, the car has been with service for 4 weeks and was told that the car would be needed for another 2 weeks! This situation not only has detracted from the driving experience but also raises safety concerns. Before I feel comfortable driving the car, I will need reassurance that these events will never happen again on the road. The concern for my safety is of utmost importance. I was told that the service department has been in touch with Porsche USA and Porsche Germany for assistance in resolving the problem.

Another sporadic problem that I have experienced is with charging the car. Often, it stops charging necessitating frequent checks that it is continuing to charge.

Despite multiple visits to the dealership for inspection and repairs, the issue remains unresolved, which is not what I expected from a luxury vehicle of Porsche’s caliber. I have lodged my concerns with the dealership's service departments, my salesman and finance office. I am deeply disappointed by the lack of resolution.

Considering the premium price paid for the electric Macan, I believe it is only reasonable to expect a vehicle that meets Porsche's advertised standards of excellence.

@bayfarmbz & @Goldtrom - can you provide the type of options you got for your car? Just the options that requires software management. I am wondering if there is any pattern on options vs software malfunction types. My Macan 4 is to arrive 1st week of May, and having read some of the issues raised here (great forum BTW) especially the phantom-breaking problem, I am apprehensive about it. This table analyzes options vs software glitch risks, and I am wondering if the real-life experiences out there reflect what this risk-analysis shows.

My car has all the safety options. Below is last week's text from service department-
I just wanted to update you on the vehicle. Technical asked us to replace 3 HV cell module. Module have arrived, we are waiting on technical to see if they are going to send out a technician to perform the work or our master tech can perform the repairs. Hope to have new update before end of week. - Laura

Don't spend much time worrying about issues you see on this forum. Keep in mind the vast majority of owners have few problems. I suspect an electric Macan has the same amount of problems as almost every new electric car right now. There are legitimate problems with some Macans and even a few that will be return as lemons but it is the exception. Focus on learning what you can about the car that will be useful while owning it because the chances of experiencing many of the problems you see here are most likely low. It will be another decade before most companies get the software as stable as we all want it to be.

My vehicle had only the standard safety options. Didn’t even have surround view. No innodrive either. They never officially identified the cause. It will have to go back (lemon).

I’ve been in a loaner macan 4 ev for 3 months now. No issues to report. Been really happy with it.

That's good to know Rob - perhaps yours happened to be the unfortunate but very few lemon ones. Glad that they gave you an equivalent loaner and 3 months into it no issues.
