I took delivery 10 days ago and a full 100% charge only Macan 4 displays a range of 260 Miles.

Yesterday on a cold day with 11% charge it displayed a range of 2 miles.

I complained to Porsche Solihull and was told this was normal and it can take upto 4000 miles before you get optimal range.

I am not convinced 🙁. Appreciate any advice

Set your preferred charge to 80% or at most 85% as a standard (using above this occasionally if really needing higher charge/mileage) and relax and let this range concern all settle as you enjoy the car.

I have a new Taycan 4S with performance plus battery and also a Macan 4 … they both show similar range / mileage when at 80/85% charge despite the Macan 4 battery being considerably smaller. (240 miles at 80%)

Both cars tend to show consumption rates of 2.8/2.9 miles per Kw after 2000 miles and I expect that to improve both with warmer weather (not short term as we enter the raw cold of U.K. winter) and driving style. (A few weeks ago when we enjoyed mild autumn weather both cars showed 3.1 miles/kW

I drove the Macan Turbo from 6 to 2% on secundair roads for about 15km’s … while it indicated way less …

That's more than just "poor range". It's clearly nonsense from the car. 2 miles range with 11% remaining would mean just 18 miles at 100%.

seems low. I have a macan 4, and a taycan ct4, along with a loaner 2025 taycan base/rwd.
In "normal" driving (which includes heat use its been chilly here in AM) - mixed local and highway:

macan 4 - 3.5-3.7mi/kw
taycan ct4 - 2.7-2.8mi/kw
2025 taycan - 3.5-4mi/kw

2 miles at 11% is just a mistake by the range meter.

The range meter is just a guess. It tried to estimate range based on temperature, battery %, and your known driving style.

In addition, there is some amount of miles before the car will get full range.

Finally, there are different types of range. One is commuting, which is extremely inefficient and will show bad range (especially in the cold). Turning on and off the car will use a lot of energy, especially when it has to heat the cabin. The other is highway, which is more efficient and will get more range.

With that said, if you're in cold weather 260 miles is probably a fairly realistic estimate for commuting range.

They look good figures and what I'd expect.

How chilly has it been may i ask?

you only took deliver 10 days ago...the battery hasn't cycled/conditioned enough yet. I'm assuming you haven't even consumed a whole battery worth of range yet to worrant an 100% charge up... and you said it was cold...

I have read many times on here that the regen is suspended by the ecu for the first 400? miles to ensure the brakes bed in properly. So that would dent early use range.

I have done 350 miles - initial charge to 100%, 2nd charge to 80% and recharged yesterday to 100% which displayed a range of 260

There's nothing wrong with a range estimate of 260 on a new car in the cold. The range is probably a maximum of 330 miles in ideal conditions (72 degrees, flat highway, 60 mpg). You take losses for cold and any time you start/stop/warm the car.

260 mixed use in the cold seems right. I'm sure you can get a bit more on a highway at reasonable speeds.

What range are you hoping for in the cold?

Ha, relative term probably. Low/mid 40s in AM (about 6c), but during day it's about 20c/mid 60s. Along the coast in Southern California it's never too cold or too hot. But, I do see a range drop when running heat, moreso than running AC.

Our Macan 4 has about 700 miles on it now of mixed driving and the range estimates are pretty consistent. My wife does most of driving and has a less heavy foot than I do, but her drive is a good mix of highway and around town use.

Wife went to office today, 28mi, about 20 of that highway at normal speeds, rest in town/stop lights, average speed 41mpg, 3.6mi/kw and I'm SURE she had the heated seats on high, steering wheel on heat, and heater on!

The numbers I posted from my CT4 are pretty consistent the last 2.5 years of use.

BTW: our car started to leverage regeneration around 250-300 miles. I was able to manually activate it though on my trip home from the dealer (get benefit of some long downhill grades during 300 mile drive)
