I didn't even know there was a watch app.
Unrelated -- the widget for the Mercedes App suddenly disappeared recently.

A new version of the My Porsche app dropped today (version 16.0.2). Unfortunately, I'm still not able to see the data in the new complications (state of charge and vehicle status). Anybody else seeing an improvement with this new rev of the app?

Answering the other inquiry (@LivingTheDream), in my experience opening the watch’s My Porsche app doesn’t “wake up” the car, hence no battery drain. You have to do other tasks like lock/unlock or start climate control to do that.
Alxman,

I ran across the following info in the app based Macan EV manual (in the “Charging high-voltage battery” section, “Longer idle periods” subsection)...

Avoid using the My Porsche app. The connection between the app and the vehicle activates the high-voltage system, thereby discharging the vehicle electrical system and high-voltage batteries.
So, I think my question about the battery use implications of these new complications still stands. Obviously, this doesn't much matter until we can actually them. Still...

I based my assumption after noticing that the car only “wakes up” when using the pre-climate, lock/unlock, or horn/blinker options. The heating/AC starts when turning on pre-climate. And a couple of light indicators turn on in the cluster screen (brake and park) when using the horn/blinker, or lock/unlock (in addition to the headlights on the latter). Otherwise, the car and computer are seemingly off when selecting any of the other options in the My Porsche app. I have also noticed that often the charge percentage and mileage in the app are not in sync with the car until you open the door and “wake up” the vehicle. All that suggests that unless you use functions that “wake up” the car, the battery is not being actively depleted.
Hard to prove as the battery charge gradually goes down in any battery operated device not in use (phone, tablet, laptop, etc). And as the car will actively protect the battery when exposed to hot environments.
But, I can certainly be wrong. After all, who am I to question what the manual says?! When not using the car for a long period of time, I would certainly follow Porsche’s advice and leave the battery at the recommended percentage and connected to the home charger, if possible. And I will try to refrain myself from using the app too often ;)

I downloaded the latest version of the app. The Apple Watch complication selections for status and charge seem to be removed at least for the time being

The new charging Live Activity feature works pretty well. I still can’t get the watchOS SOC widget to show anything useful though.

There are actually 2 active complications for the watch - SOC and Lock State.

Lock State isn't available around a dial, so you might not see it as an option for your current face. The Modular face allows you to select both.

Yesterday, the Lock State complication worked for me (but it's really small and hard to read). After today's update, it no longer displays! And it seems the link is broken too, so it doesn't go to the Vehicle Status page of the app anymore.

Here's some screenshot that contains the Porsche complications available - Word Mark, Silhouette, Shield, then Lock State in the bottom middle, and SOC in the bottom right.

As I'm writing, there's another choice for where the Word Mark is that shows a silhouette of a car. I can't tell what this is called, as the UI doesn't show the full text of the complication name.

Not 100% sure yet but the new live activity tracker seems to be draining the battery. I’m on a 6 week vacation. Left the car at 50%. I have power monitoring setup a can confirm the first 4 weeks it only used about 4.7 kWh/week in single bursts once a week. Since the app update it’s been charging in 1.5kwh every 24h. I just shut off the live activity to see if it stops.

Here’s the actual consumption graph. You can see the frequency of the spikes started increasing.

2 thoughts:
- Wasn’t the Live Activity update only made available yesterday? What live activity are you thinking of?
- That should impact the 12V battery, not the HV battery you’re referring to

Unless I’m missing something?

I’ve seen 3 charging sessions since it updated. Maybe it was released earlier here? My phone auto updated and I started getting live updates at least two days ago. Only reason I looked at the data to see what was going on.

it’s very clearly the high voltage battery. Why would it need 3kw to charge the 12V?

I don’t know where “here” is but the change log on the US App Store shows the release was yesterday and previous releases don’t mention anything about Live Activities - hence my question.

And I fully understand the HV is getting drained. My point was that Live Activities would drain the 12V, not the HV battery. This to say that the culprit may be something else.

Here is Japan, but I use the USA App Store. No idea how apple decides when to release an update. Can easily imagine it’s phased by location of phone not App Store.

Fromanother thread it was stated that checking the app turns on the high voltage battery to charge the 12v battery. Between that and the coincidental timing made me suspect the live activity. I turned it off, while not conclusive if it magically stops charging every 24h that’s good enough for me.

Looking at the App Store, when did you get 16.1.0 updated on your phone?
Open the App Store, tap your picture in the top right corner, and scroll down to see when the Porsche app was updated, it will give you the date.

If you also happen to know what thread that statement was made on, I'd be curious to read it and ask the OP about their source - because it is very odd to me.
