Like Tesla deducting potential gas savings from the car price. If you intend to keep the car long enough, you can get it for free!

I am hoping to place an order for a 4S in March. Would it be reasonable to ask for a 5% discount off MSRP for a $125K build? From reading this thread it appears that some folks have been getting discounts. Considering Porsche's financial challenges, and slowing EV sales I am of the opinion that the timing might be right to ask for a discount.

You’ll never know if it’s a reasonable unless you ask your dealer for it. And you probably won’t get it unless you are willing to walk away from the purchase. But what’s the worst that could happen?

Yes, true. Will definitely ask for a discount. Got nothing to lose.

I would first find out what the cars on the lot have been discounted by. Then ask the sales guy what the best price for one would be. That’ll give you an idea of the maximum discount you could probably achieve.

In the UK we have a registration year change on the 1st March so existing cars will appear ‘older’. Despite this, the dealers seem to be looking for configurator prices less up to 5% so not much chance of getting much off a new car.

One thing to consider is securing the price before any price increases. I know most people think Porsche won’t get away with increasing prices but the dealer may try to use that to hold to the existing list, without any discount.

I had a very pleasant surprise - I upgraded my order from a 4 to a 4S in order to get the car much earlier. When I got the order it was £ 1,500 less than expected. I asked why and was told I jumped the queue by taking over a previous allocation which the buyer cancelled so I got the pre 2025 price increase. £ 1,500 represented less than 2%.

It’s not really surprising. My Macan has far too many “quirks” that have gotten under my skin in just a couple of months.

A Model Y, albeit more bland inside and out… albiet less fun to drive, is significantly cheaper and far easier to live with.
Well this is concerning. I pick up my Turbo (hopefully) in a week. Coming from a M3P Highland. What quirks?

How about a list of pro's and con's:-
Pros
Build quality
Good driving position
Indicator, wiper, cruise control stalks
Actual buttons
Efficiency / reliability of range
Matrix Headlights
Apple CarPlay
Keyless entry - walk up / away lock

Cons
Mobile App
Reversing camera(s) from 1980's
No OTA updates
Lane Keep Assist
Speed Warnings
Errors on Instrument cluster every morning
Just one quick function button on steering wheel

The car is fun to drive, but a downgrade from a M3P to actually live with. Parking camera / function is probably the most noticeable.

In my opinion, the car is an upgrade from a M3P.
The mobile app is decent enough
The reversing camera is bad but the 360 top view helps it overcome some of its limitations
Definitely wish there were OTA updates
Lane keep assist is intrusive but I just keep it off
Same with speed warnings which can be kept off in the US, so not a big deal
I have had no errors show up in the instrument cluster thus far… seems more prevalent in cars sold in the UK

Relax @adamjay79, I think you are going to love your car!

I had no issues/error messages in the UK, except greyed out P&G which wasn't a big deal as Porsche Charge Card worked when I needed DC charge.
But thanks to @TomekGnomek who found the solution.

- Agree on reverse camera
- OTA updates will come
- LKA will be turned off (US)
- Speed warnings will be turned off (US)
- Errors - we shall see but most folks I know with a Turbo spec aren't seeing this
- One quick button is fine with me.

Once you have the car settings to your liking having only one programmable button is fine. At least in the US where we don’t have to deal with the speed warning being on every time you start driving the car. I use it to turn on regeneration during city driving and off during highway driving.

Yeah that's the irritation for a UK/eu user... We have the joy of having to switch off speed warning, and lane keep assist every time you drive it...

So I have the steering wheel diamond button assigned to disable speed warning (the car is often registering different speeds which are incorrect for the road, e.g. car thinks it's 20mph limit road, but actually a 40mph limit road... so as you can understand it's proper annoying)...

...In an ideal world having the diamond button set to parking assist would be probably the best use of the button, as unlike a Tesla the Macan doesn't seem to intuitively understand it's being parked when moving forwards into a space (unless there is an obstacle infront of you... 32inchs away or something like that, which is often not the case).
